A musical travelogue of popular Malian singer, Alou Sam, and his 6-piece band as they travel by land from Bamako, Mali to Selibabi, Mauritania, to perform two concerts. Moving from one intimate encounter to another, including a jam session, a rehearsal, pick-up truck promotion, and an animal sacrifice, the treatment of the film mirrors the musicality of its soul-filled soundtrack.

That was very interesting. I really enjoyed the shots thst you selected for this piece. I only have two comments:
1. the two sets of subtitle were a little distracting at first, but obviously very necessary.
2. I think you may have started the musical transitions a little too early in a few spots. Some of your subjects were still talking but the music drowned out their voices.
I hope this comment doesn't sound too preachy, because I really enjoyed your film, and hope that others will too!

I enjoyed watching this piece, very stylistic and well-done.
I had to get used to the musical transitions, I see another viewer thought that you started the music too early--but I saw it as an intentional artistic choice of yours--which I thought was an interesting way to introduce the band members. I did however think that you stayed on the shot just a little too long which became distracting.
I personally could have done without seeing the sacrificial sheep--perhaps it's just the "squeamish self in me speaking" but I didn't see where it added to the piece, and especially coming after the beautiful sequence that preceded it.
and lastly, the piece seemed to end abruptly--and I felt a little let down, expecting to see more of the band playing after so much leading up to it.
Overall though, good job! -
Great music and nice shots of Mali but I really do not get a sense of what is going on in their lives. It lacks charachters.
