Crystal, a Thai transvestite in Bangkok, led a quiet, normal life working as the Thailand brand manager for a well-known French cosmetics company--until one day she is denied entry into a nightclub based on her sexual identity. Rather than accepting the discrimination, the episode springs her into action, and has much larger consequences than anyone could have imagined.

I've seen quite a few documentaries on this subject, and at first I thought that seeing yet another one on this issue wouldn't hold my interest, but it did for the full 13 minutes. Well done piece. It also helped that Crystal was such a likable character. I especially liked her closing statement.

Excellent work! This is a refreshing, honest and interesting look at a subject often obscured by sterotypes and amateurish humor.

very well made and interesting.
-
Joel - that was a powerful story that you so clearly portrayed - of course the eloquence and dignity of Crystal was evident and that really comes across. fascinating that an incident which is replayed daily across the globe without changing anything had such a dramatic impact in Thailand. Keep it up.

Aj. Joel that was great job. and I totally agree with her. It's time Thailand have to change some rules for gay or lesbian

Inspiring and important! It so simply portrays the power of what a single individual can achieve, even when they might not intend to. Crisply filmed and captivating... Excellent.

GL Very important issue. The trans-gender person has always been with us. To recognize their basic human rights is the only way to go.
Check out Andres Custom Shoes if you get a chance.-

Congratulations to Crystal for being so strong. I taught her English for a short time in Sydney and was always impressed with her character.
-
Thanks for this very strong documentary that raises the issue of discrimination against LGBT's in Southeast Asia. I think the event you describe here might be remembered as a turning point for LGBT rights in Thailand, like Stonewall in America.

She is a wonderful girl. She worked so smart for thai constitution change about gender equal . Her case againt Novotel can make all people to give sympathy to transgender. That's great job, Mod.

Finally, a view of Thai transgendered men that does not confuse them with gay men in drag. This is unexpected, interesting and would gain a wide audience.
