The internet proves once again, no matter how unique you think you and your situation happens to be, statistically with a couple billion people on the planet there's at least a small handful of people that have the exact same problem you have. Is the fact that we can now self-diagnose our own problems really a good thing? After all, it's pretty easy to convince yourself that you've got something wrong with you if you can find thousands of accounts of people having the same symptoms on the internet...

This makes a lot of sense patients with certain conditions can report firsthand their experiences without going through tedious interviews and tests, and connections can be made by doctors and other patients alike. Given the decreased face time we have with our doctors, this can be a valuable asset in addition to but not in lieu of healthcare.
