Sean Penn says someone stole Christopher McCandless' boots

Penn directed the new film, "Into the Wild," about the young man who died after trying to live off the land in Alaska. Someone has apparently taken his boots, which sat in the abandoned van where he died for 15 years.

  • Alaskans are discussing taking the WHOLE bus out of there because we don't want more inexperienced, wide-eyed wanderers to die out there. They are in the process of getting a company to remove the bus to avoid future deaths. They've already had to rescue several uninformed people who went out there to be like McCandless. They've idolized a poor young man who went into the wild without knowledge of what to bring (he brought a bag of rice) and no knowledge of Alaska wilderness (and its famous hypothermia).
    Alright already. Put his clothing in some Hollywood museum, but don't come out here and risk dying!!!!
    It's about 40 below out there already.
