Homeless youth in Phoenix Arizona continue to face an ongoing problem leaving them option less. When they reach the age of 18 they are no longer legally able to receive foster care and they cannot legally check into a homeless shelter until the age of 21. This leaves a large number of the homeless youth with basically no help or stability from outside resources.

HomeBase Youth Services has provided a safe haven and additional resources for this age group of homeless youth who are often considered 'the forgotten population.'

This documentary focuses on the problem facing the city of Phoenix and the dedication and volunteer support of HomeBase Youth Services and community volunteers who are making a difference.

great pod. you took the sound design really seriously, which is rare for vc2 pods. and the contrast between b&w and color was very cool. good job!

What a wonderful short documentary. Very informative. I had no idea.

That voice is scary, as terrifying as a B-drive in horror movie from the early 1970s--what is with the pedantic PSA intonation, try to be a more impartial. We find out midway--it is a commercial for Youth Services. The only commercials on Current are the ones that pay the bills.

rawbird has a point... really scary voice......is it a horror movie?

well, maybe is to illustrate the point that what these kids are living is horrifying...

I like the pod, but I'd drop the narration. Spoon-feeds the audience too much, I think. Some of the details could be given via text or something. Either way tho, great job.

Interesting aspect of the homeless problem that I didn't know about, it's crazy how a law could leave someone without support for 3 years. However, I do have to agree that the narration was a little distracting. Rethink that a little but otherwise good job.
