  • AWESOME video. Great way to spotlight ROH and its fans.
  • Nice touch hearing from the wrestlers themselves.
  • Other than the over modulated sound I thought the video was very well produced. I was there that night disappointed i wasn't interviewed but whatever.

To the actual product of ROH, This is a superior product to WWE it's target demographic is at the 'smart mark' They put on solid shows which are no where near as good on dvd as they are in person.

  • This imbodies what wrestling fans are missing. Wrestling is becoming a joke, a drama, and a soap opera! Ring of Honor is what wrestling was, what it should be, and what it will be! If you're a television network who has considered pro wrestling as something that you would like on your network, then I suggest Ring of Honor. WWE itself said that a true "pure wrestling" product is what is needed to bring competition back to this sport! I support the cause of ROH, I support the wrestlers for their hardwork. I respect everyone who steps between the ROH ropes, I can't say that about a lot of the WWE preformers.

If you're a network on the borderline of putting wrestling on your network, don't you dare put together a half-assed attempt like MTV did with "Wrestling Society X", put ROH on your network! Give us what we want! Give us RING OF HONOR!

  • I first heard about ROH online,I hope that they can get a legit tv deal someday. This is what wrestling should be.

  • The WWE comments by the ROH performers and fanboys is totally desparate and bush league. Is this TNA? I laugh at this "real" pro wrestling v. Sports Entertainment talk. These are just terms and it's all the same thing. Only marks believe in "pro wrestling" v. "sports entertainment". I also laugh at the talk of more supposed action in ROH and how they are what wrestling is suppose to be. What a crock! What WWE needs to do increase all their numberss is to improve on developing their characters and stories. Having an ROH in ring style won't do anything to sell any more tickets and PPV's for them cause that style doesn't draw any money. ROH has never drawn 2000, they bombed in the West Coast, and you'll never hear about their actual buyrate numbers. All they are is just some East coast smarky group with a bunch of dime a dozen spot monkeys and schmos who rip off moves from their favorite Japanese wrestlers. All the performers in ROH are marks who take wrestling way too seriously and think it's real or something. ROH is made out to be a big time promotion cause the people running it are friends with the wrestling media.

  • I love it...Need more of it

  • ROH is the best wrestling promotion in the world, buy some dvds, go to the shows, see for yourself why it's the fastest growing company sports today.

  • great promotional video for roh. that was a really fun philly show that they shot this at, and i'm even more excited for the one next weekend with misawa, strong/quack, danielson/aries, vulture squad/age of the fall... has the potential to be one of the best philly shows all time.

  • A promotion as successful as ROH has been over its five years of existence is going to have enemies, and unfortunately one of them decided to try and spoil this possible exposure for them. Gilchrestius is surely just someone ROH has pissed off over the years, as you can see by the fact that he registered just to badmouth this video, so I'd take EVERYTHING he says with a HUGE grain of salt.

Now, with that said, I do think all the WWE bashing is often unnecessary. But I say that as someone who watches all their stuff and for the most part enjoys it. I love ROH too, don't get me wrong, but if you just look at it as two completely different ways of approaching the same basic thing then I think you'll be able to appreciate it better. It doesn't mean the way the WWE does things is "wrong" or "bad", just different, and vice-versa for ROH.

Now, if you want to talk about just a terrible wrestling promotion, well, there's always TNA..

  • ROH cares about the fans. Very rarely will you see any company break their backs for the loyal followers like ROH as a company does. Thank you ROH!

  • One of the best 'hype interest' videos I've seen in wrestling. ROH is a great, well-booked promotion. I would have liked to see some opinions from the rest of the roster, like Danielson and Morishima, but I suppose there's another time for that.

To Matthew00: I think you've been missing the ball completely. Any style of wrestling can get over in front of a large audience if it's given the amount of media exposure WWE has experienced and bought.
Also, if you don't get why there is a clear difference between what wrestling used to be like (when it was actually called 'pro wrestling') and what wrestling is presented as today in the mainstream media (sports entertainment), that's your problem. You probably do know why certain fans differentiate between those terms and you probably do understand the difference, yet, just to spite, you stray from the facts to become a 'superior smark'. And let me tell you now, if you think you are a more intellectual wrestling fan than any of the other people who posted, think again. Your influence means nothing here.

Note: I wouldn't be surprised if you were known as 'Mike187' on a certain NOAH forum. Seems like wherever ROH goes on the net, you take your dirty fingers with them just to piss people off.
  • Finally some attention for the company giving wrestling fans what they ask for, not just what other people think they should be given.

  • ROH started back in '02 and they STILL have not disappointed anyone really. Philly is a hotbed right now. And they are THE wrestling company to beat in terms of booking, giving the fans a voice and lastly for letting the wrestling just GO!
For someone to idiotically spout off that ROH is just "this or that", shows their ignorance. The product speaks for itself. And it speaks VOLUMES!
    WWE=Mickey D's. ROH=Filet Mignon!

  • I love the fact that the majority of this video is Ring Of Honor "FANS" saying why they love it as you can see the passion, even in the ladies at the start of the video, because in many ways it's this passion that has gotten ROH where it is today much the same way Extreme Championship Wrestling grew to its prominence in the late 90's. Unlike ECW however who was crushed under the weight of its own success and short comings, do to a bad Business model, over extending their resources and being the odd man out in the War for talent between World Wrestling Entertainment and AOL/Time WarnerÂ’s World Championship Wrestling, ROH has a solid business model and more importantly has made a point of not making the same mistakes that ECW did. While ROH centers it's business around DVD sales it should be pointed out that there live shows consistently out draw the non-ppv domestic live shows put on by SPIKE! TV's Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling which has almost 1 million viewers per-week. As others on here have pointed out WWE has gone on public Record more than once and stated that for a wrestling company to be successful in a market that is so dominated by them that that company would need to offer a more of a "Pure Wrestling Product" as a way to offer a true alternative to WWE, which is what ROH does

  • I can't understand why people are bashing this product so much. What is it the lighting, or the fact that some of them aren't that great on the mic, the production of it, no big jumbo tron or fireworks. I mean what is the big problem with it? The WWE is just a glorifed popularity contest, that's why nobody but, the main guys week in and week out who put the worst matches on t.v. are constantly on there. It's ridicoulus, why bash a product that is based off wrestling and not glorified personalties, like the WWE or TNA. Don't get me wrong but, I like some guys on WWE or TNA but, their poduct is stale and being rammed down by your throat all the time. All the wrestlers are steroided up in the WWE and don't know a wristlock from a wirstwatch, except for a small few. TNA is just living off the WWE scraps anyways they won't push guys like AJ, JOE, or Homicide, because they haven't been on the WWE yet. ROH is new, fresh, it doesn't go along with ridicoulus storylines, and everyone get's a push. Oh yea and the fact they might be copying a Japenese wrestlers moves is pointless, because that's all the WWE and TNA does, so I don't understand why you bash them for that either. This is hopefully the future of wrestling.

  • I just hope ROH takes a MASSIVE bump in production quality before it makes it to TV. In order for it to succeed in mainstream, unfortunately, it has to eliminate any sense of bush-league, and that may give the product a different feel than we're used to.

Little things like producing a show live-to-tape (not live) can help this so much.

  • Hey, this is JA, the videographer who shot this piece. I just want to say thank you to the fans, because you gave my piece the multidimensional edge that it really needed. Going to an ROH show is amazing because of the wrestling, but when the fans step up and start chanting, it gives it a whole nother level of enjoyment (usually of the comic variety). I appreciate ROH because they go out of their way to make the fan feel important, and necessary, and if there was ever a true difference between them and the big feds, that is it. As a fan myself, i appreciate this product, and pray it grows, without losing that touch.

  • I personally love Ring OF Honor, been watching since the very first show. Have over 60 of their dvds, and plan on buying more. I have been a wrestling fan all my life, but since about 2003 i have found myself despising the WWE, as storylines and character development became more important than the actual matches. I find the storylines, to be quite blunt about it, retarded most of the time. Vince McMahon is murdered? So what? Vince has a bastard son? Big deal. And to anyone who thinks the ROH style is just a bunch of "high-spots" and moves ripped off from Japanese wrestlers, just look at the ratings from the critics. Not the fans, the people who study wrestling for a living. Dave Meltzer has not rated a WWE match 5 stars since 1997, yet ROH has 3 since 2004. The main event at Wrestlemania 23 didnt even rate as high as Brian Danielson vs Nigel Mcguiness at the ROH Driven ppv. And I like the fact that every ROH dvd I have paid for has been worth it, unlike when i feel ripped off when watching RAW for free. When the longest match on a 2 hour wrestling program last only 12 minutes, and ends in a dq anyway, what is the point of watching that? and im not just picking on the WWE, TNA is very guilty of this as well. I hate how a heel cant win a match unless they cheat, like all their talent falls out their ass as soon as the crowd doesnt like them. I also hate how they repackage their talent, like we arent gonna know they were some one else in a different company or time period. Marcus Cor Von? Monty Brown. Umaga? Jamal. Jimmy Wang Yang? Jimmy Yang. John Morrison, or whoever he decides he is this week, John Hennigan. Personally, if the WWE would concentrate more on the actual wrestling than the bullshit, I would watch again. They have some of my favorite wrestlers on their roster, Shelton Benjamin, London & Kendrick, Shawn Michaels is still amazing, Jamie Noble, CM Punk, the list goes on. I am a wrestling fan, I just dont see wrestling when I watch WWE.

  • I like ROH, but everyone on here seems hell bent on bashing WWE to no end! If 'pure wrestling' without character developments and storylines were what everyone wants, wouldn't WWE be out of business? I don't rate WWE very highly anymore, but its because they have gotten lazy due to no competition. ROH isn't going to provide that competition. It's a great promotion and it cators to its fans...its small minority of wrestling fans...What people want to see are great characters backed up by solid wrestling. Shawn Michaels, Kurt Angle, Edge, these types of guys. If they pull out an awesome spot, the crowd loves it because they don't see something like that 87 times during the same match! Look how stale the X-Division is right now? I know that ROH arent just a bunch of 'spot monkeys', i have seen danielson and the like, but they haven't got the X-Factor that a HBK has. They will never be stars. Great wrestlers, but they are not what the majority of fans want to see and pay money to see. ROH style wrestling just wouldn't get over in the mainstream, sorry to tell y'all, but its true. I love ROH, but its not what the larger wrestling public wants to see on a weekly basis. You can hate on WWE, hell, even I dont particulary like it but dont ridicule people because they do. WWE is as successful as it is for a reason. It accomodates what the majority of wrestling fans want. Accept that fact and move on. Bringing up WWE all the time makes ROH come across as idiotic. Leave WWE alone and do your own thing. See what happens.
