Jensen Walker (photographer) suggested I create a short documentary around his concept and photo shoot of Iraqi soldiers invading an American kitchen with a family on the floor - much like what we saw in the press in the earlier days of the occupation. This is a provocative idea that gets you thinking. With all due respect for the incredibly difficult situation our USA solders are in of course.

I would definitely say that this is different, and interesting.

Wow, it's amazing how the photographs really do play to the emotions. Great job on documenting this photographer and the important work he is doing.

Bravo. Strong story told through image and naration. The dual focus of personal motivation, technique and a unique compelling message was really fresh. A+

I don't know if the pictures alone whould have the same effect, but this pod sertainly does make one think!

Great point of view.

Waldorf, thanks for the feedback. Are there images or situations that you think would aid the project in conveying the idea? What would help you to make that connection or leap from a visual perspective? Would be interested in your input.

I enjoyed the videography very much. Music was good, and the split frames worked very well. My only criticism is, if I saw correctly, the photographer used a white actor in makeup to play the Arab soldier. It just gives me a funny feeling harkening back to the days when white actors used to "black" their faces. Not the videographer's call, just saying it stood out to me... Liked the piece very much. GL!
If you get a chance, please check out our uploads shot in Maine. Thanks! -
I like the story line and the way the editor put it together ... what I don't like is that the audio doesn't quite line up with the video. And they missed the makeup on the invaders' right hands.

I want to thank everyone for taking the time to view the video and then writing comments. I appreciate it. Excellent feedback. Regarding the audio - yes I noticed it's slightly out of sync at the beginning. I'm perplexed as to what happened but I have an idea and I will resolve. I just realized I can re-upload a newer version. I hadn't seen that option (remember I'm new to Current.TV). So I want to get this right.
Again thank you for your feedback.

To answer the question about where are more photos like this -- Jensen Walker's photography is at link - and he does have many more pictures around this theme. We did this back in March and since then he's done two other variations in different locations (besides a kitchen).

Interesting way to provoke the American opinion.

interesting and thought provoking,
made me think of the old adage: do onto others as you would like to be done to you.
I liked the use of picture within picture, although at first it reminded me of the crawls used during newscasts -
fucking brilliant...
-
your gonna scare alot of folks wit this one! great work.
