San Diego Mayor changes mind on gay marriageHere's more details on the story: turns out that his daughter is a lesbian and he could no longer deny that right to people like her.

I can only imagine the political pressure this put him in. I deeply respect his decision and his willingness to go through all that he most likely will.

Okay, so do I understand this correctly? The resolution that was passed (which he was going to veto) he is now going to sign and pass? And, the resolution only tells the city attorney to file a brief? So, nothing was actually done making gay marriage legal?
But, why does he start crying, and carrying on? Are we supposed to feel bad for him? Like, oh now that your daughter has come out it's okay for you to bend the rules? But before then (when thousands of other gay/gay friendly San Diegans were fighting for equal rights), it wasn't okay?
Why do we elect these people in the first place!? We should support candidates that actually give a shit BEFORE they swindle their way into office! That way, they're actually productive from the start. Get out of here Mayor Nut-Job. Seriously, pull yourself together.
