    • It takes a great amount of talent, intuition, and knowledge of music theory to know what goes with what and how to make a great mashup. Sure, some turn out bad, but some turn out great. That's the beauty of experimentation of music as a art.

    • Dj Z-Trip is a legend in the mash-up world and also a well respected DJ.

That's only because people haven't seen Sue Teller - this is one truly 'bad-ass' granny!

    • Mash up brings 2 great songs together to make sometimes a really great song. Other times it can ruin 2 perfect tracks. Guess thats what you have to decide when doin mashups... Is it guna work?
The pod was ok but i would have liked him to go into more depth about the mash ups and actually show some of his works and how he goes about making the tunes. Maybe even show him at a gig.
Well jealous at the amount of records he owns tho.
Thanks for taking the time to do the pod tho.

    • Regardless of who is or isn't the "Godfather" of mash-ups, it is a great form of musical expression that is one of my personal favorite things to listen and dance to, when it is done well. I think its great that someone (whether or not you think the pod was well done), is awesome. Thanks for the pod!

    • what is weird to me about mashups is that the first time i started hearing the term to describe a dj style it was literally mashing genres together...it got popular because when a really good dj did it al jolsen would sit right next to ronnie james dio into sun ra....the songs were not mashed but the genres....

    • I think this is very inaccurate to say he's the "Godfather of Mashups." I don't know where this sentiment came from – certainly no one in this scene would say that, nor would Z-Trip himself. It's hard to define where the first "mashup" came from – was Grandmaster Flash looping a breakbeat over a different vocal a mashup? Sure.

    • Why is this music important? Why does he do this? Why are you in the film holding a lav? Why are there so many cuts!? I think these are questions you have to think about. It's an interesting subject, but it doesn't present anything.
