Jason West, known for conducting same sex marriages in the village of New Paltz, NY, was voted out of office this month.

I'm still not really sure why he lost. The new mayor didn't didn't articulate what was wrong with his stance on local issues, and the fact that he said they were on the same page on major issues, and then named a couple, none of which were gay rights, seems suspicious. All of the interviewees also had different reasons for why he lost - could it have been the elephant in the room? I also would have loved to hear Jason West's answer to that question.

Thank God for Jason West! What an incredible time to live here in the Hudson Valley! While Bushy Bush was using gay rights as something to freighten his followers, Jason West just came and gave gay people equal rights. It all ended when someone from FLORIDA fought it and won. Jason West is my hero!!

Interesting that Atty general SPITZER fought to stop this freedom, and was lated forced to resign for cheating on his wife with a prostitute!
