wow, sounds like someones got their panties all in a bunch. i think the point of a 'rant' is to express the things they dont like about a particular subject. i'm not from LA but live here now, and i certainly have my fair share of things about this city that make me nuts. But that doesnt mean i dont also love it and live here for a reason. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt without resorting to such hostility. jeez.

Please note that I live, work and pay taxes in LA and the POD is only my opinion so please feel free to shoot one of your own. yes my g-string was in a bind lil' missy but this is a topic i am particularly passionate about. I am born and raised here and so was my dad's dad. I am very proud of my home and If Iwent on the local Glasgow tv station and ranted about all the things I do not like about Glasgow( even though I chose to move there) I would probably get my ass handed to me .right quick. g-string included. Scott , we would probably get along just fine . I love getting drunk during the day! Look, there are so few people here who are from here that it chafes my nether regions. chromehelmet-out.

this is weak...when i started watching this channel i thought something interesting was finally happening on tv to educate or at least shake people up with some raw,real content...not more of the same old hyper edited for the ADD generation bullshit...it seems a bit more like maxim tv...you guys seriously suck for ruining such an amazing idea and catering to your braindead viewers...fuck all of you...

actually...here's why LA sucks...i had a friend who clearly struggles with surface image issues...the artifice we are all becoming so comfortable with thanks primarily to LA due to it's powerful reach into the minds of children and humanity everywhere through television,film and media of every imagineable type...i reached her at a crossroads when we became friends....to either seek to be a more substantive person truer to how she feels on the inside...or to conform more deeply to the surface that others percieve her to be.she struggled immensely with this before finally moving to LA to plastic surgery...become an aspiring trainer...and porn star/hooker.in her mind there is no other option.the television and media make this reality so omnipresent by portraying the mini universe of LA as a reality that it seems impossible to defeat the power of surface artifice...of the eye...the tyranny of the eye...LA is possibly the single most powerful driving force that is destroying generation after generation with it's surreal lie that there is anything there...when in reality it is the most empty place i have ever been...it's really a desert...with a thin layer of plastic over it at the moment...which will inevitably just blow away.the sadness of this place is barely glimpsed at in this so-called rant...whatever happened to dennis leary??

Well, its just my opinion but maybe we should ask not what Current can do for us, but what we can do for our country using this brilliant new tool. It sounds a bit cheesy but think about it. It might suck if all you want to do is complain about how Hollywood turned your friend into a hooker , but if you blame the failed pursuit of superficial dreams on Hollywood then you failed to mention the possible lack of parenting, or the inter-web.( a series of tubes)
My point is you might also see Current as a grass roots opportunity to participate in the democratic process , the great debate, where anyone can voice their opinion on a myriad of topics and it's o.k. to disagree. Is that so weak ? Hell no! It's patriotic!
But, when you say "L.A is the most empty place I have ever been... L.A. really is a desert" , well the truth is that L.A. is actually located in a desert but it sure as hell is not empty. It's chock full of people who came here looking for their dream. Like your friend. So, If the entertainment industry dried-up and blew away tomorrow I would be a little sad because I'm a big fan of Hollywood but the weather would still be perfect most of the time, the ocean and mountains would still be a short drive away and the tacos would still be best in the world.

i am amazed i took the time to write anything here at all...i think i was in a mood that day...to be honest...i'm not interested in constructive conversation.i rarely expect to find much of that on sites like this...and i don't think i'm gonna be the one to change that...but just so you know scott...i happened to pick this pod out of the hundreds and would've probably responded the same way.it's not really you or your pod specifically that i was feeling angsty toward...just the whole current tv pod thing...it's a little strange how every pod seems to be done in a similar way...which is beginning to resemble the rest of the cable/reality tv spectrum.and maybe it's not even current tv's fault...but rather...it's the homogeneous masses who contribute are all brainwashed by the same shit on tv.with all it's potential for diversity and unpredictability...current tv is frighteningly reflective of the same old tired shit in pod form.yes...you say...why don't i do something myself?it's a perfectly legitimate gauntlet to throw down.i guess if i thought it would make any difference i might...but this whole concept has already gone the way of...everything else...and besides...it's not the masses i want or need to reach...it's the one...possiblytwo beating hearts outside my door.i want to see their expressions...talk to them face to face...sadly...the most honest interaction any of us seem to have anymore is on sites like this.there is no amount of truth i could possibly put through this medium...the television...a film...or otherwise that is going to create any meaningful change.i am only bothering to address this at all becausethanks to scott's response i realized a real person actually made the effort to do something creative and i kindof cut the guy off at the knees...you get my props for your pod scott.it's not what i was hoping but at least you did it...i'm betting you will do better in the future.as for CHrome...i don't even really know what to say to you.you actually sound as if you consider the geographical location of LA to give you some sense of identity...and you take offense if i say a bad word about it.maybe you feel the same way about your favorite sports team...and like to have a good fight in the bleachers too...as if that city or your alma mater or your favorite sports team actually plays a real role in giving you the slightest sense of identity.as if LA is a community of people with real hearts and minds who interact on some sort of meaningful basis.i would imagine that...much like here where you are a little blob on the screen...you could be anyone...it isn't much different when you walk the streets of your beloved city.you are a meaningless face that could vanish tonight and your beloved city wouldn't hesitate to mourn your loss.it is occupied by soulless, self-centered beings bent on the sole directive of achieving some shallow sense of personal glory...and little else.LA doesn't give a fuck about you...why should you give a fuck about it?and honestly...i would say the same thing about the city of san francisco where i live...or any other metropolis of the modern world.but LA sets a powerful precedent for the metropolises of the world...and feeds the diseased spirit with it's broadcasts throughout the globe to further this state of affairs...so i have a particular distaste for it.you are right however...the weather is great...and the beaches are nice...
