  • I remember being a kid and the Royals were a force to be rekkoned with as George Brett tore around like a maniac. Those were some damned fine memories - especially the World Series win in 1985. These days in KC we incessantly joke about a team with forgettable players and an owner that needs to devote less time on the golf course. If this town lost the Royals to another city - they wouldn't be missed. Sad but true as the city gulps down another train wreck season. Plus, minor league baseball is much cooler.
