This story was sad to read. Sad, and pitiful. It seems to risky to even consider using steroids when in professional sports. Ultimately, even if you break the records, you can never have that sense of honest accomplishment. Trainers and athletes need to refocus, and stop using science and drugs to exploit their bodies.

when he first saw this picture...

In the letter, Jones said she "trusted [Graham] and never thought for one second" she was using a performance-enhancing drug until after she left Graham's Raleigh, N.C.-based training camp at the end of 2002. "Red flags should have been raised in my head when he told me not to tell anyone about" the supplement program, she said. She also said she noticed changes in how her body felt and how she was able to recover from workouts after she stopped taking the substance in 2001.

oh look, when it's not someone on his hometown team, jsaraco gets all cynical!!!!

She trusted Trevor Graham the same way that Barry trusted Greg Anderson. I feel some sympathy for her. Is Mark Ecko going to pay to have her jail cell branded with an asterisk now?

I don't know, Aroc. I'm an athlete and sometimes your body goes through strong and less powerful cycles. Many athletes take performance enhancers that are NOT steroids. (Just check out GNC or your local health food store.) I think that finding steroids after the rigorous tests that the athletes endure and the scientists find nothing is incredible. Why didn't anyone find the drugs in her system THEN? Five years later and given by a trainer that an athlete implicitly trusts?

Wake up guys. For Marion Jones her body is her business and if I was an Olympic runner competing for my country I would ask the trainer "hey "friend" what are these supplements your giving me? I'm not going to loose everything I have worked my whole life to accomplish because you gave me steroids am I?" Then take it from there.

Oh and further evidence of Bonds taking steroids was released by his ex-mistress on the Howard Stern show. if anyone has a clip of that please post. First off the girl is a Playboy model now and she had some really funny stuff to say about Bonds.

In this video clip from a few years back, see how Marion Jones' has been fighting steroid rumors for years.

Aroc, I understand that her body is her business, but what does that have to do with a trainer who is so bold as to give her the clear telling her the truth. From what I understand from the reports, he told her that it was flaxseed oil. She found out AFTER the Olympics that she'd been taking 'clear'. At that point, what would YOU do? Would you go to report it & lose your medals (along with the 4X100m relay) or would you lie about it like she did. She admitted to lying after the fact, but she didn't know at the time she was consuming it what her trainer was giving her. I don't know much about how clear is ingested so I cannot comment on that. So, we're back to square one. The relationship between the trainer and athlete is sacred wherein the athlete does what the trainer tells them to including hydrating (drinking), resting, lifting, etc. Her trainer allegedly lied to her! So please factor that into your analysis.
