LONGITUDE is a Rhode Island based 501 (c)3 non-profit organization working with visionary leaders of grassroots educational and human rights initiatives in developing countries. Currently we are aiding a community secretarial school in Ghana, and a human rights organization in India that helps members of Indias lowest caste. Please take a few minutes to learn more about our projects and how you can help.
Longitude's mission is to empower visionary leaders of grassroots educational and human rights initiatives in developing countries by providing them with much needed resources, volunteers, and support services. More specifically, Longitude facilitates volunteer opportunities in conjunction with our foreign partners, raises funds for project growth and improvement, and provides material and programmatic support for the foreign NGOs with whom we collaborate.
"Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends."
