It's always been distressing to me the importance of religion in politics in this country: it's nearly impossible to stand for just about any public office being an atheist, for example. Perhaps maybe in a place like San Francisco it might be possible, but that's another reason why we should become our own city-state.

I would guess only slightly fewer Republicans are acting, but it's perceived as more legit because they belong to the Party of God... It must be weird to be a small-government, libertarian-leaning, non-religious conservative... and it would be interesting to see Current user algore's take on your first sentence :)

So you think that Kerry, Gore, Giuliani, Biden
never sat in a church before you heard their names?
What do you think Gore was doing at St. Albans?
I mean St. Albans!!! Check out their website if you don't know what I mean.Come on. He even prays at the dinner table. No kidding.
I don't know what that is good for but to say that these guys only act for the camera? Get real. -
Stardate, I don't think their faith plays a large a role in their politics as they say it does. These men are basically too educated and scientific and involved in REAL issues of politics to put too much creadence on faith and religion. They are acting religious for middle America.
