  • Patented drugs: have the government buy the patents on the biggest drugs and put out free licenses to generic manufacturers. The big companies still get a large payoff, consumers get cheap drug access, and the development costs are amortized by the state instead of sick consumers.

Microwave Kanzius. Publish, publish, publish, and lets see some widespread peer reviewed results. If it works lets use it. Radio waves to kill miscreant cells - great, lets develop it. Microwave separation of water into H2 and O2, great. What industrial process can take advantage of this? It doesn't create free energy, but as an industrial process it looks very flashy.

  • Hey there! Didn't quite understand your first comment...did you upload your film to viewpoints-- or did it find itself there by accident?

  • I only know what I see in the articles. Last week's report on 60 Minutes (4-12-2008 with Leslie Stahl) was more informative. Injecting metal compounds into tumor masses allows the metal to act as an antenna that heats up the area of the injection. Okay for bulk tumors, but you have to find the tumor cells first, and this does not find tumor cells, nor can you control the leakage of the metal solution.

My earlier rant was along the lines that the government should buy the rights to really key patents and allow widespread low cost generic licensing without forcing end users to directly fund R+D and patent profits.
