Coors and Miller are merging their U.S. and Puerto Rico operations (they make beer in Puerto Rico?) in a deal that's expected to save them $500 million of cost savings 3 years after completion of the merge. Execs are saying there will be no closures of breweries, and that in fact, expansions might be made possible by the move (perhaps one way they'll save money is by putting the same stuff in the bottles of the different beers! No harm, no foul, since they all already taste the same!). The new company will be called MillerCoors...and still won't be as big or as rich as Bud. Talk about an industry leader!
