  • Yep, the mosquitoes there are huge and overwhelmingly numerous and hungry... and their bites leave huge painful itchy bumps. Many of the locals seem to be immune, though. Watching a busload of tourists emerge is very comical - they exit the bus and start slapping themselves on the face, the head, the neck, the arms, the legs, and do so non-stop. At the end of the day, they are a sorry sight, their skin covered in large red bumps. :)
