    • I agree with you’re post about the use of torture during war, because I feel the same way you do. I also feel it’s inhumane. I don’t understand how people could do some of this stuff. It’s disturbing. It’s just like you said most of the time it is completely unnecessary and wrong. But what I like the most about post is the fact that you come right out and say ‘I don’t claim to be an expert’ that makes you awesome because you’re not fake. Also this whole situation go’s against our constitutional rights such as life. Because if you read it, it says we have the right to life. Torture kind of go’s against that. lol

    • I agree with your post about the use of torture during war. I would rater not be punched in the face for no reason. I do feel that it is not necessary during war just to get one simple answer. But we shouldn’t torture people.

    • I agree with the post that HenryG had left on current.com. I agree with how he says treat people humanly and not inhumane. Torture is very inhumane and it shouldn’t be done. Treat people equally or as how you would want them to treat you. Torture is nuts and you have to be sick minded to even come up with some of the torture devices or techniques. Its true what he says about how he’s never been hit in the face. The purpose for that is that he never stuck his nose where it shouldn’t have been. That’s my belief on Torture.

    • “I agree with your post about torture during war”. I also think we should hold ourselves to a higher standard. There has to be other ways than torture, so in other words it’s not necessary. I just look at it as myself; I wouldn’t want things so cruel to be done to me! Yeah, they may do it to our soldiers, but that just proves that their low, cold and heartless; so why would we lower ourselves to their standards. By not doing it shows were better.

    • I disagree with the post. I believe that first off being tortured is going to hurt way more then getting punched in the face. He basically said he has never been punched in his face and wouldnt want to be. So he would not want to be tortured. Well that is a dumb way to compare it so let me put it this way for you guys. No on WANTS to be tortured that is the point in doing it. If you inflict pain on somone who has information about the U.S. getting attacked then then torture them and get the damn info. Who really cares if we save hundreds or thousands or whatever as long as we torture one person? Im not saying go areound torturing people it should be used under very limited circumstances. Dont be torturing people for no damn reason.

    • wow Devin8420, you gobble up the fear propaganda like it's Thanksgiving don't you? nobody wants to "destroy ALL Americans". I think you want some people to want that, so that we're justified in nuking somebody, that would excite you wouldn't it? this isn't a fucking john wayne movie, this is our foreign policy. we shouldn't be a torturous police state. you tell me one instance when torture saved a single American life, because it just doesn't work pal. if you were being tortured, you'd say ANYTHING for them to stop, and when we "strongly interrogate" suspects, do you know what kind of info we get? 2 kinds. lies or nothing. torture doesn't work, so give up your fantasy. and ps, I guess you think folks who don't support torture are pussies. jesus fuck, turn off the country music and peel all the American flag stickers off your truck.

    • I resent the fact that our government has engaged in torture and has even subcontracted the dirty work to other countries. Torture diminishes the people and governments who inflict it on others; it should never be an option.

    • The info you get from a person who has been tortured is often unreliable. Think about it, your going to say about anything the torturers want to hear to get them to stop.
Plus, by becoming torturers of prisoners, our government has given up the moral high ground in the war on terrorism.

    • I agree my man. Torture is an ugly ugly tool. In fact, it's not even close to being the most effective way of getting information out of someone. But that's besides the point. As a nation who claims to promote peace, freedom, and prosperity, we are heading down a rocky path. The truth is, we should promote peace, freedom, and prosperity through peace at home, prosperous markets, well-funded social institutions and other good examples, not through the barrel of a gun. The Federal government needs to step way, way, way up on this one. And I'm not talking about King George, he's done enough damage.

    • How unexpectedly eloquent. You shoot straight to the heart of the matter, which is to rise above and at least try to do the right thing. When I was a kid, I kinda' thought that was what America was about.

    • Word. How can we progress as a nation and a society if we don't push ourselves to raise the bar on our own moral code, and how it plays out in extremely stressful and violent situations like war? (hell, if we did that, there probably wouldn't be war in the first place, but that's a whole other story)...
