I Heartily agree, when under duress a person can easily be convinced to say anything and there is no reason for a tortured prisoner to default to the truth when he or she wishes to make the pain stop. Torture is a despicable practice made doubly evil by the fact that it is basically useless. It is possible to achieve results using comptently performed interrogations that do not involve the use of force, violence pain or physical discomfort. We have long had large law enforcement agency subdivisions devoted to the skillful application of the psychological skulduggery that makes any form of interrogation useful, these methods can be used without crippling prisoners or driving them completley insane.
