All Hail the Amero!

In the "While You Were Sleeping" category, George Bush and former Mexican President Vicente Fox have agreed to create a common currency called the "Amero" (sounds like "Euro," doesn't it).

This is one of many steps toward the secret merger of Mexico, Canada and the United States that is discussed in author Jerome Corsi's book "The Late Great USA: The Coming Merger with Mexico and Canada."

Conspiracy theory? Perhaps. But, Vicente Fox's statement that "a North American Union is inevitable" and his confirmation that the Bush administration has agreed to create a common currency on a recent appearance on CNN's Larry King show confirms that something is afoot.

How do you feel about a North American Union?

  • Maybe it just takes some getting used to... but i found the one and two euro coins to be super annoying... you'd have a handful of clunky coins in your pocket all the time and not even realize it was real money.

Here's one vote for paper money -- and the destruction of the penny... i'm sick of throwing those in the garbage.

  • So does this mean that there will be no more borders anymore? We will be one big ass country?

  • I am all for a lean towards globalization to a degree.

I feel we Americans have become too elitist and selfish. Our assuming attitude and general apathy in regards to anything outside our immediate sphere of life has not prepared the average citizen for this inevitable change.

I just don't trust the current players behind it (Bush and friends) and the fact that most of the mechanations and maneuverings of this whole issue have occured in such a secret and less than forthright manner only leads me to suspect the true motivation behind a movement in this direction right now- I seriously doubt it is in the public's best interest... at least not the general public. Perhaps a select few rich folks that make up a very small percentage of the public, but not you or me.

  • Yes, now you are beginning to see the light. Actually, if you read the wikipedia link I provided you will see the pros and cons of this idea. What's really interesting is what the conspiracy folks are saying in films like http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com.

  • I think the central bank idea may translate into even more mass debt for the Americas over time.

  • Why do you think so? I mean, why does the monetary autority has somethong (directly, of course) to do with the external debt?

  • I think this is a bad idea. We weren't informed of this decision for a reason. I mean why wasnt there a vote?

  • I am still trying to get my brain to understand the impacts. This could go both ways...and maybe we won't have to devote resources to "securing our borders" from our neighbors.

  • I think, as everyone used US dollars in north america, that maybe it's a right choice using one unique currency. Then each country could get a part of the "inflation tax" tat actually only the US gets. Anyway, they'll have to create a central bank (goodbye miss Fed, who dances with the tallest), where will it be?

  • I can't believe that some of you are actually saying that you would go along with this change in currency. Don't you see that it is just another way that they (the ones in above the law) want to control us?!? To them, we are nothing more than cattle and all they want is our money. PERIOD! I could care less if you believe that or not but it's the truth. If we don't stop them now, the north american union, the NAFTA superhighway, and the one world government will be on your door step faster than you can imagine. You are all loosing your rights and freedoms on a daily basis thanks to god ole bushy in the white house and the passing of the military commissions act of 2006 as well as the patriot act. Don't believe me? Look it up, do your OWN research. the facts are there people.. it's time to wake up!

  • Hey patriot
it seems you've been watching Zeitgeist. It's allright to me, I agree with some points, but I don't see why it could be dangerous to change the currency, if controlled by an uncentralized authority. On the other hands, you have extreme liberals wanting to let every bank print their own currency. Now that would be a nightmare, is that what you would want? or would you prefer going back to the gold standar?? That wouldn't be any better..
For having another view, I recommend you reading Milton Friedman's Monetary History of the United States, specially chapter 7.
    cheers

  • So if there is a one world government, does that mean no more war?
    effexor
  • No,

a one world government will want nothing more than to rule the worlds population in fear and control us in every way you can think of. Do some research on Military commissions act of 2006, Patriot act, NAFTA super highway, and the newest bill, HR 1955. All of these bills and/or laws and/or projects or being put in place to take away our rights and freedoms. Simply put, there trying to get a world full of sheep. I for one will not allow the elite "rule" me.
