Is that your Phone or your Imagination?

I tend to get phantom phone calls when my phone is actually on me. Then I reach into my pocket and find no one called. Then I get sad.

"If your hipbone is connected to your BlackBerry or your thighbone is connected to your cell phone, those vibrations you're feeling in the car, in your pajamas, in the shower, may be coming from your headbone.

Many mobile phone addicts and BlackBerry junkies report feeling vibrations when there are none, or feeling as if they're wearing a cell phone when they're not."

  • And to think I only thought of that as a side effect of crack cocaine. Now I have an excuse!

  • Incredible! I am so pleased to know about this phenomenon; I get phantom vibrations from my handbag each day.

  • jennatar ~ you get it from your handbag? This happens to me, and I always assumed it was my leg muscles just twitching. You mean it's in my head???

  • I get this all the time on my hip where I usually clip my Treo ... even when I'm making calls. I was starting to think I had some sort of deep vein thrombosis action going on. I wonder if the phone company will start charging me for a second line?

  • I was overthinking this article, recently, and it occurred to me that it must really be an involuntary muscle spasm--a flinch, like you're anticipating some sudden movement or impact--and that the spasm feels rather akin to the way the arm, hand, or leg trembles when a cellular phone, set to vibrate, suddenly moves against it.

Anyway, this article hasn't lost its luster for me yet. Can't stop overthinking it. Ugh, I really *must* be addicted... to text messaging, anyway.
