  • Abortion is a basic human right that, in addition to allowing a person to decide whether or not to become a mother (not only a physical experience, but also a deeply psychological one), ensures a person freedom to exercise sovereignty over their very being. If a person is denied that right then what rights do they have? None.

    What's the point of being alive if you have no rights? Obviously, abortion rights will not result in the termination of our species, but denying abortion rights will result in the termination of half of our species being recognized as full human beings.

  • Even though I can see where you are coming from, I have to disagree. In my opinion, people have every right to have an abortion. For one thing, It's population control. For another, it will prevent a child from having a potentially unsuccessful life.

  • Did you know that everyone on the planet could live in the state of Texas with 3/10 acre of land per person? Population control is a sham and a poor excuse for abortion... and since when was it okay to start killing people off for being "unsuccessful?"

  • I don't think this person was making a definite stance on either side - he was pointing out the complexity of the topic and how both sides have merits. I really enjoyed this opinion as it did not shy away from the blurred lines of such a difficult issue.

  • i really don't think men should have a say in whether a woman can have an abortion or not. As the mother of a five month old, I can honestly say I considered one. I would never want to go through a pregnancy for nothing.

  • jumped around the issue without giving a solid opinion on abortion ... don't be afraid to say what you feel is right.

    the beginning of this guy's presentation - i agreed with what he had to say. near the close of his video, his opinion disappeared as he seemed afraid to take a stand on the issue of abortion following rape.

    avoiding controversy only prolongs the debate!

  • I believe abortion as birth control is wrong and dangerous, but I also believe that many considerations need to be made. If a man stays involved and wants the child, his reasons should at least be considered, I also believe that a man should have a say as well as the woman about keeping the child, if he does not want the child, but the mother does, then he should not be held liable to support that child, he also should have rights. I also believe that for those totally opposed to abortion that they need to step forward and tell us how they intend to pay for the millions of unwanted children now in the USA, are they willing to step up to the plate and pay more taxes to do this?
    Finally I believe a woman needs to have control of her own body, but other issues need to be addressed and taken care of to guarantee the rights of all people including the unborn by a logical and considerate dialog among the entire US Population and Government!

  • I agree with the previous poster who said that while SUMFIGHT claims to be presenting both sides neutrally, he is really presenting his side. By the dramatic music, the word "killer," the repeated question "does that make it right?" are all very telling about his point of view.

    By attempting to present both sides, veiled though it was, it at least opens the door to let us say that the reality is that whatever our views may be, the issue truly becomes that we shouldn't be able to impose them on others, since a woman's body is an ultimate realm of privacy.

    with no truth but your own, why should I live?
    ---an aborted child
    ---a fetus with potential for vegetative state of mental disability, or your great grandpa (who can't communicate or pee on his own)
    ---should I be killed, ? The answer is YES. Of course, because you (human) say whether I am valuable...or in this case, I have no value....just pull my crippled, rat-shaped corpse out and drop in nearest bio-hazard garbage receptacle.
