  • Hmm, no lights seems like it could be problematic.

  • That really is how traffic works! No lights, no lanes, no rules...but for the entire two weeks I was there, I never saw a single accident.

  • more accidents when it rains in LA than over there, I bet

  • The drivers in India operate on a whole other system, basically they just beep at eachother in order to constantly overtake eachother, that's it. There are no desernable lanes, turn signals, rights of way. It's just a cacophony of beeping cars, scooters with 3 or more passengers, rickshaws, cows, people, monkeys, dogs and what have you. But yes somehow it appears they do manage to miss colliding into eachother with no more and an inch to spare, amazing.

  • it's that way in lots of places... really, it's similar to walking on a crowded sidewalk. People are able to do that without bumping into each other - it just requires a different mindset. Not that I'm advocating a move to this policy in the US...

  • If they can do it all the time without lights, why do we freak out when the lights go out? It's like ants, if you throw a leaf in their line they scatter and don't know where to go. Ha HA Ha. Americans.
