WE WANT AL TO RUN!!!

The Presidency would give Al Gore a LOT more influence over policies that affect climate change - international treaties, domestic legislation on energy conservation and renewable energy development, etc.

He's a statesman, an activist, and a nice person. He'd be a fabulous President, and we need him to restore our standing in the world.

At least he is keeping climate change
a front and center topic.
Along with Health Care for ALL
not Health Insurance which uses up about
a third of every dollar spent for stock price
and overhead/administrative costs, not to
mention hundreds of millions into CEO pockets

Hundreds of thousands of Americans have been enthusiastically calling out to you to run for POTUS.

You know that global warming is not the only thing that's dangerously nearing the "tipping point". So too is the incremental degradation of the constitution, and the ever expanding dominance of international corporate interests, to the detriment of the welfare of the people.

Just as half measures will certainly fail to arrest global warming, nothing less than radical, transformative action on the political front can reverse the USA's rapid descent into fascism.

The overwhelming majority of the electorate now recognizes the country would have been more prosperous, secure and respected had you become our president in 2001. It is this recognition of "what could have been" that will give you, as Bush's successor, the political clout to enact a progressive, humanitarian and environmentally responsible agenda in 2009.

Regarding the issue of global warming, you, as a private citizen, have done a phenomenal job of raising awareness throughout the world of the impending climate catastrophe. However, all of your efforts will be for naught if the USA does not get on board with the nations that are serious about confronting the issue head on. As president you will be in the strongest possible position to promote the legislation and treaty approvals necessary for international cooperation and success.

Al, we're asking you once again to rise to the challenge. We've learned a lot these past seven years, and THIS time we've got your back. We trust you. Please trust us.

I think we're all hoping Mr. Gore has heard our pleas and knows, in order to make the changes we need, it has to be done at the top, he will have to do them.

We are also showing citzenry activism. Will he find that passion tucked down deep, to serve his country, again?...to set us on the correct path, to solve these many crisis that he cares so deeply about?

I hope so.

I would love to see this. Wingnut heads would explode all over the nation. Not only does Al get the seat he won which would cause the wingnuts great pain, but it would also just kill them to see their smear of the Good Doctor did not work forever.

However, I think Howard Dean has the job we need him to have.

Please RUN Al!! The country needs you....the WORLD needs you!! The timing will never be better and we all have your back...you are a natural "leader" and we so need one after the past 6 years. Political statement as savvy marketing? I love it -- you get the netroot activists (including myself) over here to comment on Mr. Gore's video clips -- meaning new signups, etc... Helping the current brand along. Also making it RELEVANT to the 2008 election. How many candidates will upload ANY type of statements directly to people through Current, or even just YouTube and such? I'm not talking about professionally produced clips either -- I mean just what Mr. Gore did: Just a person with a camera talking about an issue of the day.

And who will be the first candidate to publicly complain about the need for equal time while they have full access to these tools as well?

As a supporter of Al Gore as a possible candidate, I do have to say something that goes beyond the rah-rah cheering though: When are you going to stop playing the coy flirt and either say Yay or Nay on the "issue" that Democrats are waiting to hear an answer for, Al?! :-)

Yes, this is the groundwork for the new President in 2008. Al, you have challenged us with the story of two questions our children will ask us, and like you, I much prefer the question, "How did you find the moral courage..?" I have found that moral courage by changing my imprint on this planet, however, for me to honestly take full responsibility for answering that question, I have to do one more thing. I MUST do everything in my power to encourage THE most dedicated, experienced, internationally respected leader to lead this once great nation so we can again become a country who will lead with intelligence and moral courage to make necessary changes before it is too late for humanity on this planet.
America and the planet deserve the best, sir. There is such a passion across the country we in the grassroots feel; it is almost overpowering, like a surging wave of collective consciousness pushing toward destiny. You sir are meant to be at the helm of that wave, and I know you feel it. It's as clear as day to so many of us, and without you to lead us we won't make it even half as far.
I am so glad you have no intentions of running a 'traditional' campaign. The people will do so much of the work for you... just please say yes... I honestly believe there will be four times as many people to jump out of their seats & jobs to work for you for free & twice as hard as other candidates pay their people for. I'm not sure how else to get across to you the depth, sincerity, and absolute heartfelt significance this request holds for me personally and for so many others, so please Al, please let us elect you again so you can actually serve this time. The funniest thing is, as of now only the Daily Kos is talking about this. I can't find mention of his videos anywhere else online. Could it be possible that the mainstream media really has no idea? I can't wait to see what happens next...and, could this be the start of an inconvenient truth for Hillary Clinton?

If you don't run, then all of us with any kind of survival instinct will have to look for another country to move to. I wonder what they will name the new dictatorship.

Karikoz overtates a bit. But if we have Hillary as president, we'll have to vote our energy to ending the war. Al's Army will have recruitment damaged.

But if Al Gore is president, he'll have an army of activists watching his back and supporting all the crucial environmental causes. And it won't just be slide shows and concerts. President Gore can negotiate the treaties we need to save the planet.
