Illegal immigration is one of the hottest topics in politics today. As history would show, democrats are usually more supportive for amnesty of illegal immigrants and republicans are more supportive of securing our borders and our country. If you are the former, please consider the following facts:
Each day, thousands and thousands of illegals flood across our border, and only 1/3 of them are caught.
An estimated 1,900,000 american jobs are displaced to illegal immigrants each year due to the relative costs of hiring americans and illegals. $10,000,000,000 of the money earned by these illegals is sent back to Mexico. It's not stimulating our economy.
The education costs for illegal immigrants is astronomical too, almost $7.5 billion dollars every year.
This money could be spent on helping build our education system in America.
The main cause of wage loss in lower class american jobs is because if illegal immigration.
They are having a massive, negative impact on our economy. We need to secure our borders and make sure that those illegals that are in the US are found and sent back. We cannot allow our economy and education system to suffer because of them. Thoughts?

You are letting lies and propaganda influence your thoughts and cloud your judgement. I understand that something needs to be done about immigration. But starting off the conversation by calling one group 'illegal' gets us no where. I think that this is so easy to do, and if you think about you will see it's true, is because these immigrants are not white and do not speak English. Xenophobia really. Just watch Lou Dobbs. You can thank Bill Clinton and other purveyors of neoliberal trade policies for what you consider a 'crisis'. NAFTA has caused the massive influx of people into this country from the south.
Your statement 'The main cause of wage loss in lower class american jobs is because of illegal immigration' is just false. There is absolutely no evidence to support this. Rather, government has been working with capital over the past 30 years to drive down wages in the U.S. The right to organize and join a union barely exists anymore. Minimum wage is not keeping up with inflation. The government won't give us a federalized healthcare plan because the insurance industry opposes it. So on and so forth.
Look above you not below you.-

Check your facts... Outsourcing is one of the main reason for our low wages, and because government either taxes small businesses too much (paying your employees alot of money is not practical if you are a small business owner, I should know) or protecting big business from having to pay too much in taxes or wages (arguing they can simply outsource labor for a cheaper wage) we are stuck in a stale mate about minimum wage and how high (or low) it should be. Also, industries that make their money from money transfers (Western Union, Moneygram, banks, and check cashing services) owe their existance to these immigrants. You also say that because they send money to their relatives in other countries they don't stimulate this economy... "illegal immigrants" spend billions of dollars here every year, as do family members and relatives who come to visit their families here every year. I live in a border town and our economy wouldn't exist if it weren't for immigrants and their families. These jobs that you say go to immigrants and not Americans, were always in industries and workplaces that had more jobs than people to fill them. They are doing the work Americans never did and continue to refuse to do. And as far as education costs are concerned, there are billions of dollars which should go to the education system that are misspent or unnaccounted for each year that are collected not only through taxes but also through other revenues from industries, including tobacco, lottery, and confiscation of illegal drugs.

Illegal immigrants are the perfect scapegoat for government misspending, funneling of tax money, and covering up real problems (such as corrupt government officials). It's also the perfect scapegoat because "illegal immigration" will always exist, no matter how "secure" our borders are, or what size wall we surround ourselves by. As long as we tout ourselves as "the perfect country" and the "land of oppurtunity" and continue to stick our nose in other country's and their people's business, then people will continue to come here for a "better life". Plus, our government and its corporations take advantage of less fortunate countries and their inhabitants for our own perks, and then ask them not to come take advantage of ours? We are hypocrites, and because many Americans are uninformed and believe propaganda and not real numbers, the political system wins and people (illegal immigrants and Americans) lose.

FAIR US (www.fairus.org) did the study on wage loss... and they concluded that's 40-50% of the reason... it was merely an estimate, but even with a margin of error of 10-20%, it is still unacceptable. i'm just restating things i've heard
to say they're not illegal is just completely wrong... we have laws in the united states... if youre born here: great, youre a citizen. if youre not born here, you can still become a citizen, through hard work and taking appropriate tests and exams, not by running across a border that is much too hard to patrol for the people working down there...
you guys are on the complete other end of this argument: that illegal immigrants are just a scapegoat for government spending... this is inferring that illegal immigrants dont cost us anything: well they do...
to say that there are other alternatives to funding education and everything else is obvious... its not even worth saying... what i'm saying is: the most fair way to do it is to take it from the people who are BREAKING THE LAW by being here...
if you want to be a good citizen in the united states, the first thing you need to do is BECOME a citizen... we need to institute the fair tax to drive them out... a lot of them dont pay income taxes anyways... might as well throw a 23% sales tax at em so we can give our jobs back to the people who deserve them: american citizens
and i agree, outsourcing is a huge problem too... if we want any hope of keeping our economic position on the global stage, we need to make sure we arent fueling other possible economic giants by give them OUR jobs-

The point I am making is that that law will never work! There's no point in having a law that is not only innapropriate, but also pointless in enforcing. Do you really think we will ever keep "illegals" out? In fact they wouldn't be here if they were really just mooching off the government and it's resources and not contributing... I would venture to say you are from an area that doesn't have enough immigrants in it to see that they really do contribute to our economy... And seeing one purchase something at the gas station doesn't count. Do you think they live here rent free, get food for free, and drive around on free gas? I mean, you must think that immigrants are on welfare, get assistance for everything, and don't pay a dime for existing here. They simply show up with their hands extended and get everything given to them? So, you think that once they nearly die crossing into this country, knowing they did so illegally, that they would walk up to the first government office they see and apply for assistance and get it? You make it sound like you know what you or that survey is talking about. Yes they pose some sort of cost, just as any other human being taking up space in this country does, just as you do, or your relatives. If this survey really was fair then they would factor in what those immigrants contribute to our economy, but of course that wouldn't be productive for the "immigration problem". It is a fact that government misspending is the biggest culprit for our economy doing badly. So focus on the real problem, rather than solving a "problem" that will just get rid of a scapegoat and leave the real issue (government misspending) left untouched.

P.S.
While we're at it and trying to solve the immigration problem, then we should revise the Declaratio of Independance to say, "All American born citizens are created equal", take out the part about "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness". Funny enough one of the reasons the United States was formed was because the king of England was preventing immigrants from becoming citizens and keeping them from migrating to the colonies. We might as well also knock down the Statue of Liberty, make all of are American companies and corporations discontinue outsourcing, shut off our dependacy on foreign oil, stop ravaging other countrie's natural resources, and treating our neighbors to the south and north as a front and back door mat. Then we can complain about "illegals" coming into this country. -
Republicans don't want to eliminate immigration all together. They just want immigrants to come into our country in some orderly fashion. It's ridiculous that it's harder for one of us to get on a plane than it is for some illegal to jump the boarder without any verification of who they are. I think foreigners that want to come into our country should be subject to the same procedures we would have to go through if we wanted to become citizens of another country. I think we are all blessed that we live in a country that people want to break into and not in a country that people want to break out of.
