I was in Mcleod Ganj a couple of weeks ago and saw the Dalai Lama there. Tibetan exiles there are divided in their support for the proposed compromise with China, if Tibetan independence is not going to be granted. The dalai lama would be willing to accept Chinese rule if it would guarantee autonomy within Tibet. I personally don't think a country can peacefully occupy another, Northern Ireland, Palestine etc. World leaders need to be stronger in their support for Tibetan Independence
