of course. you have to be using nitro not to know that you get brain dead from it.

This is some footage I shot at a festival in Bristol for a pod I'm making about Nitrous use. Most of the people I've spoken to seem to think it's just a big gas so I'm keen to speak to anyone who's had some negative experiences of inhaling it. Have you ever overdone it? Do you think it's addictive? Does it effect cognition? What are the long term health implications and why do people who use it regularly have slightly purple faces? Post a response if you've got an opinion as I'm looking for additional material. Upload a webcam response and I'll try and fit it into the finished film. Alternatively, contact me in complete confidence at benjamincato@hotmail.com... Hope you enjoy the clip!

This looks really interesting Ben, and really like what you've done with the sound. Somone must have had a crappy time on this stuff -- and what's the vitamin B12 thing about?
-
I'm not much of an expert but as I understand it Nitrous Oxide produces an oxidization process in the vitamin B12, rendering it inactive. This means that people who use Nitrous Oxide and already have a B12 deficiency are particularly at risk from the neurological complications which are associated with a lack of B12. In acute cases, people who have been administered Nitrous Oxide as an anesthetic have developed degeneration of the spinal cord. Symptoms include tingling, numbness, leg muscle weakness and an inability to sense vibrations. Ring any bells anyone?

I made a pod on this and posted it search for huffig dangers. Its Bad stuff

innit BenCato. i hear it can induce a megaloblastic anemia. Also, administration of large doses of vitamin B12 isn't much of a token.. that aside, there's nothing like a fat box of mr whippies and a giggle @ the stone circle, glastonbury!

While traveling to the Oregon Country Fair, someone I know died when his vehicle overturned and his nitrous tank took his head off on Highway 101. Yikes!
I can't go SCUBA diving now without strapping and strapping and strapping my tanks and weight belts down, as I keep thinking of what could happen if I were to be in an accident and they weren't secured.
Probably not what you were looking for, but I thought it might be interesting anyway.

Nitrous while driving sound dangerous, though. Unfortunately, that's popular with the youth where I live. I don't mean racing No2 either.
If you've ever wondered what that "Tink, Tink,Tink" noise is as a car drives by, it may be their whippet bouncing on the asphalt as they through it out the window.
Sometimes the side of the road it littered with the empties. All this to achieve a feeling that could easily be gotten by blowing up and air mattress (hyperventilating).
