Here, here! You are a good man. How do you plan to kick the corporate monoster off of K Street and out of our government?
-
Couldn't agree more. Congress should get some backbone!!!!
-
First Al Gore and now John Edwards? This is a very interesting trend indeed! Are you ready to brave it Hillary?? Ultimately, if we do not make all of this about people the people will force the situation. This is no longer just about winning elections. We have reached the 100th monkey.

Thank you Mr. Vice President! You definately had my vote! Any chance you might have a comment on either Andrew Meyer's questions or the resulting arrest and tasering? I think this question is pertinent, as my local newspaper just had a cover story announcing our California Highway Patrol's and Sheriff's department's desire to aquire tasers. This affects all of us every where. Tasering can be lethal and in fact, police officers have suffered career ending injuries while testing tasers. If this is not the place for you to answer these questions, or if you already have, I understand and thank you for your courageous stance on the war, let's START PEACE NOW! Don't tase me bro.

You are right. It needs to end. Waiting for the Iraqis to sign over their oil profits to Exxon, Shell, Mobil and BP is holding up progress. My suggestion is get out and buy their oil from the Iraqis. It's theirs, not ours. Why should they sign on to being impoverished for thirty years? Our young people are dying for those oil companies? What in the Hell is wrong with the American people. Have we no shame? There are two people that can be trusted to end this mess. Al Gore and John Edwards. Lets elect either one or BOTH!

I take back what I said about John Edwards being well spoken and good looking. He is very well spoken, and homely as an old hound in this video. Get some tips from Al Gore on filming. I'll still vote for you but with my eyes closed.

I was asked what I mean by 100th monkey in my post above. Here is a link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hundredth_Monkey

until the American people are united for the common good nothing changes in that region or here really. until you change the mindset of those who live in the country in places like TENN. And North Carolina, nothing changes.

1Eco_Media, Don't forget Texas. It could use some changing. They have forgotten that the Democrats gave them electricity. All they remember is that the Democrats registered the black population to vote. Ainta gonna fergive em either.

Texas and all other producer states for that matter, are going to vote their own economic interests for the most part, and to be sure, those states, rise and fall, with the price of the product. higher fuel prices mean more jobs there. people forget that YES, oil still makes gasoline, but in producer states it also makes jobs and good paying ones to boot. people must work. they must have a job, without it, there is no home, no car, no truck, no future. you might drive 150 miles each day to go to work and back. It's 700 miles from Dallas to El Paso. Without your truck you can't haul materials, you need horsepower to carry heavy loads. I will say this. The Spanish American citizens were totally duped by the so called right and that dog may not hunt for them next time. The whole gay thing is still a big deal in the country, and so is God, even if most, don't go to church. If you start talking about changing anything with regard to the right to a man's property of any kind, you are simply screwed in the country. Just forget getting elected PERIOD. Almost every truck has a sticker on it telling you that when you attempt to take anything away from him, that is when you will pry it off his cold HANDS. if you think, they don't truly believe that, you, are nothing but a FOOL, and you will not win, in the COUNTRY. City people don't understand the country is a very BIG PLACE. LOOK at the MIDDLE, that is ALL LAND that someone owns. They GUARD it with their LIFE every day. Against animals, and whatever ELSE.
Don't believe me go get 2 or 3 acres out in those middle states and see for yourself.-

Rob that assumes that the American people are stupid and I don't buy it. They voted hoping big money could change things for the better and now they must attempt to justify their vote so they can keep buying their own B.S., if the networks help them to do so, then that may help them somewhat, but the ugly truth is still there regardless.
If you had voted for this bunch running things now you too would look for all kinds of ways to justify your actions. doesn't change the truth. when enough Americans sell their souls to the company store we get whatever the company wishes to give us, nothing less, and nothing more. The networks just the message part of the campany. Most Americans know that.

Not nessesarilly stupid. Ignorant. They get no real news and most haven't any idea what is going on. Sit and watch the nightly news and see what you get out of it. Most don't have the time or inclination to research and and find the truth. Both husband and wife work to make ends meet and when the bottom falls out they haven't a clue who to blame. They vote party line out of habit. The only hope we have is they vote against the war.

Mr. Edwards, I hear alot that we should pull out of the war. I hear that wars take time and money, this one being no different. I hear the discontent and assumptions that we start every war for monetary reasons and I'm just tired of empty rhetoric. Could you please tell me 4 things, WHY should we get out of the war? How do you know what you said is true? So what difference would it make? What are the consequences if you're wrong?
Thank you.

No matter what the reason is (or isn't) for why we got into Iraq, don't we have a moral responsibility to stabilize the country we devastated? The US must stand for something more than what Bush has created. I would like to hear Edwards...or any of the candidates, Dem or Rep...talk about some of the creative solutions that are being discussed. Otherwise this administration's failings will be our country's legacy for a long time. We broke it. We need to fix it.
-
Mainly we should get out because they have asked us to. The reason we are staying is because so far they have not signed over 75% of their oil to Shell, Mobil, Exxon, and BP for the next thirty years. Why should those companies get their oil? Not the US government those companies get the oil. WHY? Why should the Iraqis be impoverished because we stole their natural resources? If we get out maybe they can rebuild their own country. They built it before and can again. We sure as hell can't. We have paid to have it done and our big contractors screwed us. Some of the unrest over there is unemployment yet our contractors are importing low cost foreign labor. Doesn't take a mental giant to figure out that is going to cause problems. One other thing how do you misplace 9 billion in cash? That is something like 25 Simi truck loads of cash on wooden skids. Lets ask L. Paul Bremmer, and make him answer or jail him.

And when did you say you could get the troops out by?
2013?!!!
it's absurd!
Even if you do get elected...your term would be up.
This is an empty promise.Dennis Kucinich says he will begin to bring troops home immediately and have evacuated from Iraq by April of 2009.

Dennis is a great guy, but can he win the cross over vote? Can he win in places like Tenn. North Carolina. Florida. The short answer is NO. No more than Nader could. He can pull votes away from someone like Gore and Edwards so that the Dems. get beat in Florida, and how well did that all work out.

needed. Clean elections.
They are already going on in many states now, see about your own area and either run for office or find someone who will who has not already sold their soul to the company store.
We must take big money out of politics forever if we truly care about the common good.

Agreed. This war has gone on too long.
-
We won't be able to stop the war until we take to the streets and demand they impeach Bush and Cheney. Left alone they are going to attack Iran. Then it will be too late. Maybe we should start by asking Prissy (impeachment is off the table) Pelosi to resign as speaker.

Eco,
It's obvious that changing the MONEY rules is a great solution for stopping the larger trend that Bush administration is but a symptom. However an "election money" solution is NOT viable for ending the occupation of IRAQ any time soon.
In the most basic way- it would appear that ONLY justice can end such a war- and as such- IMPEACHMENT should not have been taken off any table, let alone a Congressional one.

Right on John Edwards!!! This is kind of leadership our country and the world needs. We need to end the war today, start pulling our troops out, and works towards a dilpomatic solution....
