Monkeys kill New Delhi deputy mayor

New Delhi has been facing a rather annoying monkey problem for quite some time. Overrun with Rhesus macaques, the city has seen public buildings and major pedestrian areas crowded with the little guys, who are all to eager to strike out out a passer-by to snatch his or her food.
Well now a "gang of Rhesus macaques" has attacked the deputy mayor of the city, causing him to fall and sustain deadly injuries.
The monkeys are likely protected from extermination by tradition: "devout Hindus believe monkeys are manifestations of the monkey god Hanuman and feed them bananas and peanuts"...but will this lead to harsher anti-monkey measures?

i had to deal with these guys while i was traveling in different parts of asia. they really will snatch your food, they really will steal stuff out of your bag. in costa rica, the howlers will throw their feces at you. but this, this has got to be the worst i've heard. wonder what the response will be!!! poor deputy mayor dude, what a way to go.

LOL i'm not anti-monkey either, just totally flabbergasted. i'm just thinking about the poor dude's family. like, "how did he go?" "well, he was attacked by a gang of rhesus monkeys..." i mean, really... that's gotta be a ripley's story waiting to happen...
