  • I totally agree. Thanks!

Just wait until they try to ban men from masturbating, as it "kills babies"! That'll make 'em scream! Ha ha!

  • The potential for a "chaotic mess" (e.g, side alley abortions) seems reason enough to keep the status quo. Hard to believe it's commonplace for certain social conservatives to continue to campaign against a 1973 SC decision.

Moreover, it certainly isn't very difficult to comprehend that potential risks outweigh perceived benefits insofar as the very real possibility for unsafe, harmful medical practices in an abortion-less America. The aforementioned scenario appears to be remote and, at this point, such talk can be rendered as mere posturing from the conservative right in order to reach out to confused members of the electorate.

  • I urge you to pursue this topic. Obviously you are correct in your progressive attitude, but you still would benefit by improving your discourse. Thank you for getting up there and telling it like you see it.

  • i agree...i think it should be legal. do not forget all the women who die every year when they try to get an abortion in an ilegal facility.

  • Abortion is a selfish and heartless practice...
"to strip someone of making a choice regarding their own body is just a completely ignorant thing to do" thus according to your own reasoning, no person should have an abortion because it completely "strips" the baby of the opportunity to make ANY choices "regarding their own body"

I also agree that "a woman's body belongs to herself" It is a woman's choice if she is to have sex or not, but to make a decision to have sex is, in the very act, agreeing to share her body with any child that may be made as a result of that act. Thus she has made her decision of what she wanted to do with her body and should be adult enough to own up to the consequences.

It is NOT her right to take that child's life away from it merely because its life may be an inconvenience to her

  • What if you had been aborted? It is completely wrong to use abortion as a form of birth control just because two people were careless. In the case of a rape...that should be left up to the woman as to what she wants to do. As far as my wife, if I were married, I had always had the view that I would want her to have the child (from a rape) then give it up for adoption. However, I have since changed my point of view on that due to the fact that I would want to kill the piece of garbage that raped her. Would I kill him, if I caught him during the rape or anywhere still in my house, yes I would. So, I would tell her that is her choice on the abortion. But as a birth control method because the two of us were to ignorant to use birth control, no. You reap what you sow.

  • i believe women have the right to do as they will with their body, but it's the body of the growing child in her that she destroys. i believe medical emergencies warrant abortion if it threatens the mother's life. in some study, abortion is found to lend a hand with rape and incest by hiding it, instead of facing it.

i'm talking as an advocate for responsible parenthood. every abortion that i've known of were unwanted pregnancies from hot sex, not violent crime. when people argue about whether the baby is alive or not in his or her initial growth period, it boggles me.

yes, women should have full jurisdiction over her own body, but a body born from her free choice to have sex shouldn't be all up to her...especially if she considers murder of her own child as a secular alternative.

won't it be better to make prevention more available than murder legal? as a man, i'm open to hearing feedback on this. as a dad, i'm a bit disheartened. i love children.

  • i agree with you completely. no one has a right to say anything about what i do to my body, especially some man who is never going to have to deal with getting pregnant and having to possibly make that hard decision. even as a parent i still feel it is a right as a woman to have an abortion if she feels so fit.

  • i believe that a woman should have the right to make her own decision regarding abortion. i found myself pregnant at 19 and decided to keep the baby. my father wanted me to have an abortion. i went into early labor (not a miscarriage) at 20 weeks, and my baby did not survive. this caused a great deal of turmoil for me, it is indescribable. had i had an abortion, would the pain i felt been the same? no, but it would be just as great. life doesn't always lead us to where we want to be, and the decisions we make and their outcomes are what make us who we are. in the event of a pregnancy, the decision that makes life bearable should be up to the woman, and her alone.
