Dear Mr. Gore:

We, the undersigned, urge you to run for President of the United States of America in the 2008 Presidential Election. We need you now more than ever! The Democratic candidates are either inexperienced, unelectable, or part of the same old 'politics as usual'! Certainly no Republican is acceptable or electable. We need YOU! You are the only leader we know we can trust to be honest and truly represent all Americans to the best of your ability. You may think you can serve the world better by staying out of politics and focusing on global warming. What chance will that have of getting addressed if the United States as the worst offender in contributing to this problem doesn''t have an Administration that has the guts to be honest about it and do what's needed, not caring about big business or other special interest groups? We congratulate you for winning the Nobel Peace Prize and ask you to bring your exceptional skills and values to the service our country needs you for the most: the Presidency of the United States! We need you at the helm to believe in our future again, to repair the damage done to our international reputation and to end this insane imperialistic rampage our Republican leaders have initiated and our Democratic leaders have not had the courage or experience to check. You are the only person we all can agree on who is electable and capable of doing what needs to be done at this critical turning point in our great nation's history! Please make this sacrifice for your country! We promise you our full support not only on Election Day, but everyday beyond! Lead us to reclaim all the good things our great nation stands for before it's too late!

I am a volunteer for California Draft Gore. This is my first time to be involved in the political arena -- that's how much I believe in you Mr. Gore! I know in my heart with you as our leader this beautiful country can rise above the last 7 years and once again be the great country I love. I haven't voted since the big rip-off in 2000 but I am 100% behind you Mr. Gore as are so many others! Your campaign is already in full swing with volunteers across the country -- all we are asking is for you to answer the call!

We (I) need Al Gore. We need his voice to lead us out of Iraq and to stop the War Drums beating for War with Iran. I have a different slant. I want Al Gore to run for President with Chuck Hagel as Vice President. I want an American Ticket, one that brings in good Democrats and good Republicans. Their voice would be one to recon with.
After watching Chuck Hagel on Real Time with Bill Maher announce he will not run again and state his strong voice against this Administration, I decided I want him to run with Al Gore. They could lead by example and Unite America to change the course we are on. They would bring a long overdue conversation out in the open. We are being led down the wrong path.
This Administration has talked about using tactical nukes on Iran. What will that do to the environment? I think Al Gore getting in the race would be a step in the right direction. It has to be soon, before the bombs start dropping! All of the mainstream media are BEATING THE DRUMS! Once again facts are being spun into fiction. SAVING THE PLANET FROM GLOBAL WARMING IS IMPORTANT. BUT, SAVING THE WORLD FROM WORLD WAR III is really, really, important!

Al Gore where are you! I agree with your deeply held convictions as to the unique nature of our American constitutional government as expressed in your recently published book "The Attack on Reason". If you will not confront the issues you raise, I am left to wonder: Do you not have the courage of your convictions to enter the fray just one more time? The Presidency is a bully pulpit, not a pulpit for a bully, or for the faint of heart. It is an office that deserves a person who embodies honesty, humility and steadfast resolution. It is your moment! Take it!

Some people accuse us Gore supporters of having formed a "cult of personality" around Al Gore. But, like many of the slurs tossed around by people who don't understand what's going on, this is not the case. This is not about a passionate response to any one person. Our support of Al Gore for President in '08 reflects a well-reasoned and logical decision made after a truthful analysis of the unique situation we, the people, find ourselves facing after our experiences with the effects current administration on both our country and the countries of the world, as well as on the planet.

neat. You are so right. Our image in the world is badly tarnished. I traveled to Argentina this year and was amazed at the graffiti that reflected how they feel about our current administration. One young woman asked me if I thought Bush would just cancel this next election and continue on as president. They are amazed at how naive the average America is about the political landscape and how difficult it can be to engage people in a political discussion.
