  • Great points packed into 40 seconds with a 3 second camera fumble.

All the truth, as painful as it may be at times.

  • I like that this comment about the need for abortion services is unapologetic. I remember being a teenager, always on the lookout for that 'older but cool' female who could take me to get an abortion should I ever need one. I was not sexually acitve, but was terrified of having the Scarlet Letter branded on me, and always beleived rape was a power thing not a sex thing. Forcing the woman to give birth=more power kicks for the rapist.

  • I respect this opinion, but will beg to disagree. The abortion should be rare and avoided. It is not good for anyone involved nor is good for the society. I can understand situations in which this procedure is necessary, but the ultimate decision should be made by the woman and her doctors. It is a private and personal decision, and should be kept out of politics.

  • I want to throw up watching you spew this filth. "Oh, you don't want your baby? OK sure we can kill it for you." Oh, the baby will be retarded? Well we should kill it." "Overpopulated world, we should kill some babies." Are you honestly serious? You did not list one reason that crawls out of the disgusting bucket of reasons we commonly hear for abortions. Aborted retarded babies? Adolf Hitler wanted to do that. I guess kids who are mentally or physically retarded don't have the right to a chance at life, it's not like there are any handicapped kids or adults who lead happy lives or anything. It's not your body, it's not your right, it's killing. I would think liberals would jump on this bandwagon, killing is wrong. And let me address what dresden said in a comment: "I was not sexually acitve, but was terrified of having the Scarlet Letter branded on me, and always beleived rape was a power thing not a sex thing. Forcing the woman to give birth=more power kicks for the rapist." Don't you think this points to problems with SOCIETY? You were terrified of have the Scarlet Letter branded on you? For what? For becoming pregnant at a younger than average age? Good idea! Let's let society monster's like rapists or people who would look down on you for becoming pregnant decide the issue. "Well, I'd get made fun of, so I'd rather kill the baby." WAKE UP PEOPLE This is something that shouldn't even be TOUCHED by the Federal Government anyway! As terrible as it is, it needs to be left up to states to legislate as they choose. The Federal Goverment has no business ruling on this issue.
  • but that child deserves a right to live. there are plenty of examples of people rising above where they were born or the family they were in. and just because some woman decides some time during her pregnancy that she doesn't want to give birth is no reason to end another's life.

you put so much importance on choice. but it's a life that's hanging in the balance. the choice has been made. the woman needs to live with the consequences.

  • adoption!
a simple change of mind is all it takes according to you huh?
so one day you wake up and just decide you dont want the responsibility, the guilt, or whatever else you personal problem is does that give you the right to kill another human being?
    no.
with the only exception being rape, if you pregnant its your own fault, if you dont want the kid, or dont think it will get the life it deserves, fine. put the kid up for adoption.
    in the case of rape,
just because something bad has happened to the victim, it dosnt give that person the right to do something worse to an unborn child,
    put them up for adoption.

i understand where your coming from,
now try to understand what im saying.

  • Arguments like overpopulation and fetal alcohol syndrom are completely immature! Also, saying it is the woman's right to take the life of an innocent being is unthinkable. Her "rights" and "choices" stop when she is irresponsible and creates a child. Rather than aborting it why not be responsible for herself and take the necessary precautions beforehand and use protection or medication to prevent pregnancy? Countless people are waiting to adopt; if the woman is irresponsible while making the baby she should accept responsibility and give it up so it has the "right" or "choice" itself to a productive life. No one has the "right" to take the "right" from another being!
