I agree that this is not a military issue and it never should have been viewed as one. A war and invasion based on lies and falsehoods cannot succeed in any case.

Hi Bill,
I plan on voting for you, but you're all wet on this one Bill! For one thing, if we cut and run, these dudes'll just follow us right back into the U.S. of A! Where would we be then? Also, I think our tough posture in the Middle East has done a lot to bolster our image abroad - it shows those cheesy Europeans that we mean business - no compromises damned it! And if it keeps the Ruskies and the Chineese nervous, so much the better. Finally, and most important of all, we need and deserve all their oil after risking our lives to bring them the priceless gift of freedom, democracy and peace. So I say let's keep on kickin ass over there till someone yells "Uncle!!". -
There is no evidence to support (and much evidence to the contrary) the claim that we are gaining any respect in the world for our actions in Iraq. We may be feared more since it now appears that we are prepared to invade a country and cause untold death and destruction without a self-defense justification. Iraq is a fiasco and I hope we will be able to recover from it but I suspect it will take a long time.

Governor Richardson, You are absolutely right.
We need to get out of Iraq and t he Mideast
militarily. Now. That is why I am thinking of voting for you. It is time to put a stop to the profiteering of the military industrial complex . Pres. Eisenhower warned against this. Anyone who hasn't already seen the documentary "Iraq for Sale" ..should get a copy. It is mind-boggling.
