So economics are more important than upholding the law?
There is a term used in court: "establishing precedence". When you allow something once, it becomes harder and harder to prevent it in the future. If we keep on the path we are going, we will not be able to maintain security of our borders at all. In a utopian existence, this would be fine, but we don't live in Utopia.
This country refuses to take care fo ti's own citizens. We have millions of people living without health care. Water shortages, power shortages, dkyrocketting deficits, economic woes, etc etc. And yet, there is some debate over whether or not we should legalize millions of illegal immigrants. I think they hurt our economy. They make it harder on those who are here legally and easier for corporations and business to engage in human rights abuses.
I know many poitically left of center people who feel as I do. We have an immigration and naturalization process in place. Illegals do not deserve to but in line and get the same benefits as the person who obeyed the law and entered this country legally. There shouldn't even be any debate on this subject. If our law means so little to them, I certainly don't support their living in this country.-

Without undocumented immigrants, our economy would collapse. Why treat disadvantaged people like criminals when the real criminals are the warmongers and the people who grow wealthy off the misery of others.

but, um, like, um
okay this is just a rambling stuttering, I don't even know what it is. global capitalism? corporations aren't deporting illegals? What are you talking about?
12 million undocumented people have come into this country illegally and are completely taking advantage of the obviously vulnerable and disgustiing welfare state, putting enormous pressure on states, hospitals, and tax-payers. the purpose to come here is to embrace this nation, to learn our language, to assimilate and appreciate. this is not happening. all we are seeing from illegal immigration, which by the way is a result of NAFTA and other crap "free trade" agreements, are illegal people parading down the streets, demanding rights or something when they have broken the law and only create their own isolated and seperate communites which do not speak the language and breed crime and violence. why do ALL the other immigrants who did come here legally and are in line to become citizens have to be pushed to the side of road because 12 million other people decided to fuck the system? you're ignoring millions of people who DO want to come here legally, who DO want to assimilate and become productive and responsible citizens of this nation. this whole feel-good argument about their rights and searching for a better life is a ridiculous cop-out. there's a line. get to the back of it or stay home.-

THIS IS THE VERY REASON AMERICAS GOING TO POTS. IF WE NEEDED WORKERS SO BAD IN THIS COUNTRY. WE COULD START A (LEGAL) GUEST WORKER PROGRAM THAT COULD BENEFIT BOTH SIDES. NOT EVERYONE STREAMING ACROSS THE RIO GRAND IS COMING TO WORK. YOU MAKE THEM SOUND LIKE THEIR COMING TO RESCUE US. WE COULD GET AS MANY WORKERS AS WE NEED IF WE BROUGHT THEM HERE THE RIGHT WAY.
INSTEAD OF BLAMING GLOBAL CAPITALIST FOR EVERYTHING , TRY HOLDING CORRUPT COUNTRIES LIKE MEXICO RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONDITIONS THESE ILLEGALS COME FROM. -
awesome, great points
