Victoria's Secret peddles scantily clad dress-up dolls

Image...
Victoria's Secret publicly promotes its billion-dollar Pink fashion line to college-age girls, but their new line of plush dress-up dolls in barely-there outfits suggest they have a younger demographic in mind. While VS does indeed sell items that every woman needs, they have a racier side that grows exponentially in profit and market-share every year. Seeing preteens strutting around with "Pink" written across their backsides begs the question, how young is too young to be sexually suggestive?

is too young to be marketing sexiness to.

I couldn't agree more, platkat. That's just wrong.

I *expletive* HATE those *expletive* pants/shorts. Parents: Are you SERIOUS!?!?!? You WANT people looking at your 12 year olds ass in order to read whatever the *expletive* is written there??!?!? It's just ridiculous. I don't ban the idea of making them, but it's the consumer’s responsibility to watch out for the younger crowd. Parents need to supervise their children’s shopping!

I agree with tara, it's the parent's responsibility to monitor what their kids wear. Greedy corporations are going to do whatever they can to increase profit. I think that the parents who let their kids wear this sort of stuff, just want their kids out of the house as soon as possible. They want their kids to get pregnant, married and gone.
