I am a performance artist who works in collage, dance, poetry, and for the purposes of this video-rap. "Me" is a music video that I created as part of a video installation. I am now allowing the video to continue on with a life of its own. Rap music is one element of Hip Hop culture that has been completely commercialized by mainstream corporate culture. I created this video to add to the many voices letting the world know that this art form is far from one-dimensional. Just like me!

    Nice to see a rap that speaks about positive attributes as well as culture.
    A lot of my work is focused on more exposure for independent artists such as yourself.

  • The message was really powerful, but I think rap may not be your forte. I love the feeling, sentiment and words, but I thought the rap vocals were a bit flat and monotonous, with not enough flow. Who am I though, no one would want to hear me rap! I think your chorus is the strongest part.

  • I liked it. And I disagree about rap not being your forte. Just keep doing it and you're going to get even better. Anyone remember the videos that used to be on "Yo! MTV Raps"? They were all of this same quality and funkiness. Home-made, interesting, not all flashy and glossy and commercial. Again, I liked it.
