it is interesting because the idea that we are trying to infer to much with modern science is largely unexplored and will continue to be because if a scientist wants to challenge the modern view of global warming he or she faces becoming an outcast

Finally someone with common sense thank you. I knew I wasn't the only one that thought that way. Late Rip

this is why you err on the side of caution. end the debate, do the right thing.

You make a good point and it's really important to question the science behind any issue, but your video isn't really an opinion its more of an observation. I think you need to gain a better understanding of global warming, not so that you'll take my side, but so that you'll have an opinion that matters. Otherwise, you're just making the compromise between the two sides of the debate and your opinion is useless.
I don't mean to offend; honestly i just think the cause of global warming is obvious if you look at the science.-

very interesting. if you have ever watched "fearless planet" on the discovery channel you might agree. the grand canyon at one point in time was at sea level. the earth has been through many changes before we even got here and it will continue to go through changes even after we leave. i am NOT saying that our existence has nothing to do with global warming, we still must do everything we can to preserve what land and ozone that we have, but maybe there is only so much we can do before nature takes its course.

"Just maybe" this global warming concern is the result of misplaced zeal or maybe it is the conclusion of hundreds of scientists who know something about the dynamics of climate change. I believe it is the latter and although we shouldn't treat science as if it is the voice of God, so to speak, in according it absolute authority nor should we treat it as if is an alternative faith-based way of producing conjectures. Science is a method of approaching knowledge by using careful empirical methods that are subject to testing and retesting in a public arena-- in other words it is knowledge based on evidence. It is not the sort of thing that Bush and his ilk are used to giving much credence to which should scare us all when we are talking about the fate of our planet.

Congrats! Your Viewpoint has aired on Current TV.

yea but is it worth the risk?

It's difficult to distinguish real threats from natural occurrences, and it's true: we have had drastic temperature alterations throughout the course of world's history. However, if you've seen "An Inconvenient Truth," Al Gore's graphs show how much greater the temperature change is during global warming in the 21st century than any other natural disaster ever before. You say we haven't had equipment to measure these happenings before now so we might be making a big deal out of nothing, but we have technology enough to examine ice samples and look at history through science to compare today to today a million years ago. And the political side of the argument was only created by gas and car companies who are scared that they'll go out of business if their customers figure out the production of oil and other greenhouse gasses will end the world as we know it. Bush and his republican administration are in tight with manufacturing companies, so the issue should never have become a political one if they hadn't been bribed because of their ill-researched friendships. Global warming will affect all of us. Our short term resolutions (buying hummers to feel safer on the road and using more heat in the wintertime so our families won't get a little cold) will be the death of our children when their water evaporates, huge disasters wreck the planet, etc. Natural disasters should not be classified by political parties: Katrina isn't a republican or democratic problem. It happened and it was a problem. None of us can deny that. So why is global warming so different?
