Has anyone noticed that there is another movement in this country that is trying to keep Mr. Al Gore out of politics at any cost? This concept is mentioned time and again in articles lately that say that many in government fear Al Gores return to politics because they know that if in fact he does except the peoples challenge to run for president, then he would be unstoppable against any other candidate. Hillarys people shake when they hear talk of Gore running and the top Republican candidates dont even wish to speak of it. Is this a threat because he would reshape the government in ways that would change our country in fundamental ways? I know that both big business and those who run the government at present dont want to see a man of such high moral standards run for this office because they know that the laws that have been so unscrupulously passed to give them unprecedented powers would quickly be revoked. What I dont understand are the individuals who write glowing statements of Al Gores integrity, but say that he would lose all this integrity just by trying to right the wrongs that men of money and power have committed. These men of power have beat down the world with their wars and starved humanity of the very basics in life, and now that Al has shown the world this ultimate betrayal they tremble at the thought of his acquisition of the most powerful position in the world today, that of President of the United States. We should remember the last Presidential Race and the oh-so-underhanded ways that people, pretending to be individuals, lied about the Democratic candidate then, trying to convince this country that Kerrys service was disingenuous. I think what is going on is very similar, but since the people of the world cannot be convinced that Gore is disingenuous they say hes doing much better things for this world as a citizen who speaks from the side lines to the governments and corporations. They essentially are twisting common sense, saying that if Gore is effective as an individual that he somehow will be less effective by taking on the role of President. When in fact, if Mr. Gore listened to the call of the people, he could do all the things he has wanted to do throughout his life. We all recognize that any great task will take more than one man to accomplish, but if one man doesnt start this movement, and the world follow him then we are doomed to extinction. Great change has always started with one man brave enough to stand up and say something is very wrong then it spreads through the consciousness of the rest of humanity. Al Gore is the one man who has opened up the consciousness of the many and now he should lead the way to greater accomplishments. He has trained many others to do the work that he does now. He now needs to lead the world to a better way of life and doing business. I have many ideas as to how to help accomplish this and hopefully my next article will be able to cover that. First I thought I should speak to those who were confused or concerned by these nay-sayers who have tried to cloud the issues by pretending to be a friend of Al Gore. When in reality,.0 these people are overcome by the shear numbers of us that want to see this government and our world changed that they have reverted to underhanded tactics. They stroke him with one sentence and then dismiss his morality with the next. If any of you out there understand and have also seen this then please comment on it here, and please let others know that there really is another movement out there that is trying hard to keep Al under wraps so that they can continue their rein of terror and degradation upon this world. Peace and Power to the People! RUN AL RUN!!

It is our right, our duty, as citizens of the United States to ensure that the Idea of America (what once was and can be again) flourishes. There is no other candidate that can restore that great ideal than the honorable Albert Gore Jr.

Hombre76: You're absolutely, positively right about this. Since the mean-spirited attacks, illogical spin and usual absurdities aren't working so well this time around, (except with those lemmings who will most likely never think for themselves), some are approaching the issue of Al Gore running by praising his work on the environment but backhandedly dismissing any run for President because; . . . he needs to continue his work where he'll do more good; or . . . he'll be viewed as doing this for political reasons; or . . . he'll lose credibility; or . . . stop badgering the man, he's already said he won't run.
For me, after the last 7 years, the stakes are much too high to offhandedly dismiss Al Gore as a Presidential candidate for these reasons. This true statesman represents the heart and soul of what this country once stood for - the country we long to have back. -
hombre76. I couldn't agree more! Al Gore is a candidate that mainstream media should fear. I want him to show them, "The World is round!" America can lead the world in many ways. After the past 7 years it is going to take leadership, not politics to gain the respect we once had and now take for granted. The world knows what George W. Bush has done, it's time average Americans are told the truth, not spin. Mainstream media should feel SHAME for what they have let this administration do! They were the voices we have heard for the past 7 years and they have failed America. It's time for honesty and earned respect. Al Gore could bring back respect and honesty! Mainstream media's spinning has made Americans dizzy! It's an 'Assault on Reason'. We need a 'Voice of Reason' and they know Al Gore is that voice!

Though I agree that Gore would be the best man for the Presidency, I can understand how his position may be compromised by assuming power. A leader must compromise, choose the lesser of two evils, and take the most appropriate action to ensure the safety of his people. By appropriate we must realize that the most virtuous action is not always the wisest and safest. As with a victim of starvation, one cannot just force feed large amounts of food to crash nourish him. It will shock the system and endanger his life. Gradual measures must be taken, well-thoughtout and carefully chosen steps toward healing.
Gore has become the voice of reason to the people, but it is only possible to be a paragon of virtue with uncompromising convictions when the well-being of an entire nation is not your responsibility. Mind you, I am in no way praising old Bush nor am I denying that Gore would be a savior to our state. He would reinstate truth in journalism and the free flow of facts to the citizens and even hold officials accountable for their crimes against humanity, but it cannot be ignored that a man in the position of President cannot just reverse all diseased policy overnight simply because it is right without regard for the repercussions. That would be irresponsible and dangerous, and Gore would be forced to restrain himself from feeding the government too much too fast. This restraint would be wise, and I have every confidence that the brilliant Gore is well aware of that, but this would make him seem a bit inconsistent to citizens who think that, as the loudest advocate for justice, he should just come in and give the government a new paint job.
Things just aren't that easy. So, I believe if Gore wishes to remain a paragon of human virtue so that he can inspire the people and pressure the government to lean towards the ideal solution, he cannot assume a governmental position. It would force him to work within the limitations of human reality and therefore restrain him from being wholly revolutionary. However, if we are willing to give him the leave to do his best, make the most beneficial decisions, without putting our system into shock realizing that cleaning up Bush's mess won't be easy even for a political master mind like Gore, then by all means Gore is our best hope! The Bush administration has made many enemies for us, including other powerful and well-developed nations; therefore, the man who will do the best clean up job is the man that knows how to navigate through the growing threats while pulling the weeds of corruption and planting the seeds of democracy. It is a difficult dance that I believe only Gore can pull off.
