After a positive test for cocaine at Wimbledon this year, the 27-year-old Swiss tennis star has announced her retirement again. "I have tested positive but I have never taken drugs and I feel 100% innocent," Hingis said.

Hmmmm...

snorting can make you more popular!!!Hey leave her alone, she's just trying to fit in.
-
The pitch of her famous grunt sound may go up slightly with a deviated septum. Other than that, what's the problem?
-
Bummer. I always liked Hingis. What's interesting is that I actually believe her for some reason. Crazy as that sounds.
-
When she retired the first time I saw her at a tennis tournament and shouted "COMEBACK"! I can't believe she is ending her career this way. It was her husband I tell you (like Bobby Brown did to Whitney).

Why is anybody surprised that people do coke anymore?
-
Won't it be nice if someone who is accused of something would simply tell us that they were guilty? I'm amazed at the number of innocent people who are in jail.
-
Coke only stays in your system for a very short time (perhaps a day), so If she tested positive for coke, she either did her coke shortly before being tested, or she was set up. I don't think she was set up.
-
And who thinks coke is a performance-enhancing drug for sports? For parties, maybe. Tennis, not so sure.
-
Honey, you can't test possitive unless you did, so yeah, nice try.

I think the only surprise is her own stupidity for using when she knew she would be tested. Maybe she was looking for a way out of the game once & for all? Maybe there was an insidious plan to drive her away from tennis that consisted of sprinkling coke on her Wheaties instead of sugar or Splenda? Wait - was McEnroe her coach??
-
Actually you can test positive without having used cocaine. There are many similar drugs that will trigger a positive response, such as some anesthetics used in dental surgery. Happened to a friend of mine. Think any drug that ends in ...caine (i.e. Novocain).

Happened to Elaine from Seinfeld when she ate those poppy seed muffins. See what I mean, INNOCENT. ahaha

Free Hingis!

Cocaine found in Rome's air: study"A scientific study by an Italian city council has found particles of cocaine in Rome's air.
The study by the council's atmospheric pollution institute calls the discovery of cocaine traces "a first" for a city.
It also found traces of cannabinol, a component of marijuana and hashish, as well as nicotine and caffeine."
Maybe they should do a similar study in London. Until then I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. -
These findings are all news to me. I think drugs should be legalized anyway, it would mean less crime, crack would be dirt cheap, because it's easy to produce so fewer people would be stealing. Marijuana would be grown in everyone's back yard. Drug lords and terrorist organizations would lose power; it's all a damn conspiracy anyway.

Coke is new Gatorade...though maybe not in football. I'd hate to see a coach have three pounds dumped over his head after a team wins the big game.
