Joss Whedon and Eliza Dushku are reuniting for a new TV show.
The official description: Echo (Eliza Dushku) [is] a young woman who is literally everybody's fantasy. She is one of a group of men and women who can be imprinted with personality packages, including memories, skills, languageeven muscle memoryfor different assignments. The assignments can be romantic, adventurous, outlandish, uplifting, sexual and/or very illegal. When not imprinted with a personality package, Echo and the others are basically mind-wiped, living like children in a futuristic dorm/lab dubbed the Dollhouse, with no memory of their assignmentsor of much else. The show revolves around the childlike Echo's burgeoning self-awareness, and her desire to know who she was before, a desire that begins to seep into her various imprinted personalities and puts her in danger both in the field and in the closely monitored confines of the Dollhouse.

I will say when I picked up the Variety this morning at 7AM and saw this news I was as happy as I've been in a long time.
This season of TV has almost made me give up on it all together. New shows sucked by the boatload and old shows started hoping on the train to suckville. Heroes anyone? So then the news came...televisions finest writer in the last twenty years is back. BACK!!!! but wait...
He's back on FOX? SSSSHHHHHIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTT!!!!!!! Not FOX. They have treated you so poorly in the past Master Whedon so why return to those evil bastards? I rarely take good news without thinking of the bad and so here it is. I expect FOX to move it's air time about 4 times in the first 6 episodes and then cancel it even though it will be better than anything else on the tube, and especially on that network.
Well to go back to positive at least they are both back and even better they are together again with a story that sounds like fun. I'm excited. -
Oh, beclark. Way to bring back memories of Wonderfalls (not a Whedon, but a Friend of Whedon, Tim Minear).
I fear that you're right, and just the convoluted description does not bode well. Can he just sell a freaking show to cable already? They will love it and cuddle it and promote it and not cancel it before it finds an audience. Calling the Sci Fi channel! Heck, they only have one season left of BSG, it's time for something new. -
They better not cancel it before the first season even has a chance! And FOX could try to air the episodes in the right order this time!
