A Second Life user is suing another Second Life user for a "virtual crime" committed in Second Life. There's real money at stake, but is a crime in a virtual world a crime in real life?
I'll bet any lawyer geeks out there (or would they be called "geeky lawyers"?) are dying to know how this turns out. I doubt the court system has much precedent to go off here.
But wait, shouldn't there be a Second Life court system to handle this?

I don't get it.Perhaps I am totally marking myself a square by admitting as much, but I just don't get the whole virtual reality thing. I find it totally fascinating how people get so into it - the dynamics and relationships just amaze me, but I've never had any interest in participating. I don't like staring at my computer screen. Besides, I'll take a walk in a real park with my real sweetie who I can hold real hands with over sitting alone at a computer watching a drawn-Tori holding hands with a made-up someone in a fake park any day.
Who wants to try and explain it to me?
