Dane Cook's Disease, often referred to as "DCD," is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects the central nervous system. Those afflicted typically suffer from uncontrollable muscle spasms, wildly exaggerated movements, and the need to relay long-winded stories with no punch line, yet still expect to receive a hearty laugh.
Named after comedian, Dane Cook, the condition afflicts only .01% of the world's population. And although the cause of DCD is not completely understood, the recent years have brought a wealth of new scientific understanding regarding the physiology of this disease. Most notably, researchers have deciphered commonalities amongst sufferers that include: a) being Mr. Cook's 'friend' on MySpace; b) having seen 'Employee of the Month', or c) selecting their favorite comedian based solely on the fact that he's hot.
