Everyone descends from one type of immigrant or another. Why stop new ones?

  • I am pro immigration as well. LEGAL IMMIGRATION for which, we already have a system in place. Illegal Immigrants cut in line of those who come here legally. Everyone deserves a chance? Sure, but if you allow them to break the law because they "deserve a chance" why not allow me to go to college and not pay for it? Because I DESERVE A CHANCE. Or go to Wal Mart and take what I want without fear of being arrested? because I deserve a chance. Why the double standard?
Or did you not realize that they are here ILLEGALLY? My ancestors immigrated to this country as well ... hell, even Native Americans can be considered immigrants as their cancestors travelled across the Bering straits from Asia. The point isn't about when or where you were an immigrant ... it's about upholding and respecting the laws of this country.

  • I believe you have a very good point on the native americans, i don't really don't have much to say right now on the behalf of them, i do but it's not too pretty...

  • Well I wasn't trying to make a derogatory remark against Native Americans. Truly they claimed this land first even if their ancestors migrated here. My intent was to point out that when or how your ancestors got here initially is not what is up for debate. This is an issue that is very much "today" relevant. We did not have the same resource problems a hundred years ago. We didn't havethe same population issues, health care issues, and on and on. The burden put onto our society by massive illegal immigration will reverberate for many years to come. But people have a tendency to not look at the long term impact of their short term decisions. Allowing wholesale immunity to lawbreakers is going to be a COSTLY mistake.

  • I agree with part of this.. people definently need to have a chance to come to this country but it has to be done the right way! If we let illegal people come here what are we saying? "Come to the US you can get away with breaking the law"

  • hey, i didn't mean anything foul toward Native Americans. I just still get frustrated sometimes at the fact that where i live it just seems like they are favored in many ways. Well, for example, i do have so many friends that are Indian, but they have Indian tags on their car and don't have to pay for them, or when i went to school, i had to pay for most of all extra expenses for supplies, most of my friends got all their stuff handed to them because they were Indian. There is much more, but what i'm saying is it does at times just piss me off, but in all honesty i have nothing against anybody personally. Actually my good friend Jacob brags all the time how all his hostpital bills are payed for. He just likes to give me a hard time because i'm the little white boy in the bunch. That's the point i was trying to make.
