- greatest picture ever on the internet of all time ever (1)
Regardless of what you may think of pictures or hunting or pictures of people hunting, this is the greatest photograph ever to make it onto the Webernet ever.
Much to I'm sure the chagrin of the late Tim Treadwell (Grizzly Man), last winter, a 9 year old girl used bullets to kill this 11'4" bear (pictured, right, with out enormous gun). This camouflaged huntress, curled up, could fit inside both her rifle case and this bear's nasal cavity, yet she alone shot this bear until he were dead, then walked up to it, and put her hand on its chin, triumphantly. I found this picture today while cleaning out my photo gallery.
I did not say I was in favor of shooting bears or having children who do. I simply state that this is the most greatest photograph ever to be on the Internet ever. It gives us a glimpse into a world we sh/would never have seen otherwise, and through the glorious world of bear hunting blogs, it has made its way into a more public consciousness than might have been imagined.
I defy anyone to beat it. ANYONE.

I killed a bear with my bear hands when i was 3. But the Polaroids were lost in a fire.
-
herzog should make a grizzly man sequel about this little lady.
-
This one is also an internet classicThat's one big pig.
-
Maybe if pig-boy and bear-girl got together and had kids we could rid this world of giant, magnificent creatures once and for all.
-
OMG
-
The pig one is a doctored image - not really that size. Apparently it was also someone's pet, but the father and little boy hunter didn't know that.

Actually Chapin, the photo is real. The pig was raised on a farm as a pet, and when it got to be too huge (it was scaring their visitors) it was given (or sold) to a refuge where they have guided hunting tours. Along with the boy and his father, there were armed guides to make sure nothing went amiss. I was convinced it was photochop in the begining too, but it was confirmed by multiple sources. At least that is my understanding.
-
no way!Okay, that's right...the pig was sold to the refuge...but that picture with the kid behind it isn't real. There's no way - I saw the other pics of him by the pig and there's nothing to show that the pig is as big as this perspective.

this is awesome? no. Anyone is tough and triumphant with a gun in their hand.
i'd like to think she did this out of necessity... but, if the bear was about to break her family's house down, i have a feeling pops would have stepped in to save the day. who wants to be out-shone by a 9 yr old girl? that being said, is another reason why this photo is not awesome. how cool and dangerous/adventurous is it to be a bear hunter, if a 9 yr old can do it? some big men feeling pretty lame right about now.....
This little girl is going to have one of those bedside-gunrack things when she's older if she doesn't have one already. Re-occuring dreams of the day she shot this bear are going to leave her bedroom walls ridden with bullet holes and family members afraid to go to the bathroom at night. -
This picture is representative of everything that is wrong with the world.
-
this picture just shows how much of a pussy all hunters are
the reason they call it a sport is because they are pussies-

Evil Bert.Oh, I don't know Brett, this one has never ever left my mind. It's just something that should not be, kinda like Anarchy patches for sale in malls.
-
Dang.I guess this girl didn't have Gentle Ben in her reading curriculum at school.
-
She dosn't strike me as the "reader" type.
-
Re: Gentle Ben... good thing too. Nothing's more delicious to a grizzly than a Newberry Award reader with a false sense of security.

while I agree that this is probably the greatest ever internet picture ever, I wouldn't go so far as to say "of all time" because that's just taking it too far, cause I mean all time is a long, long time and there's probably something even cooler like a little cavegirl killing a dinosaur with a rock out there somewhere but it's not online anymore except maybe if you check the internet archive wayback machine...
-
This makes me sick...
-
It's repulsive. Hunting, especially with weapons, is sadistic, unless it is necessary for survival. Hunters are cowards, young and old.

This photo makes me feel a little sick to my stomach, as well.
-
There's nothing cool or great about this photo. And I can't ridicule the little girl, because she is too young to be culpable for her actions. I only hope one day she will feel a sense of shame, not pride, for what she has done.
-
this is some bullshit. Where is the "sport" if that is what you are seeking anyway?
You SNIPED a bear. The bear had no idea you were coming, no advantage over you (he couldn't smell ya, couldn't hear you, see you..) That's not sport, that's murder.
The fact that this little girl was able to kill it, is due to the sophistication of the weapon! so when a hunter brings in a kill, it's of no significance! so what?! a 9 yr old can do that shit with the guns ya'll are carrying!
Then it's just such a waste. what now, you idiots? you gonna eat the bear? At least you should, vs putting it's head on your wall, like you did something. or worse, gutting it and keeping the skin..
I wonder about this girl too..she has been taught that snatching the life of creatures is her right. What if billy pisses her off at school? lol..
Now I've heard stories about a man in a life or death struggle with a grizzly bear, he was attacked and all he had was a swiss army knife!!!! He triumphed, and survived. That deserves credit. -
DISGUSTING.

Hey, Berlich, dude, if you really think this is the greatest picture to ever make it to the Internet, then you might want to spend a little more time indoors, if you know what I mean. There are a lot more important things going on in the world these days than bad parenting. This photo isn't in the same league as the millions of other photos showing the plight life faces on this planet. But kudos for starting the dialog re: what is important.

Sorry Berlich, but I believe I have topped your story:You see, this 11 year old girl actually had a reason to kill. She didn't do it for the sport.

To tell ya the truth it makes me happy to see that a girl that age is learning the responsibility and gravity of owning and using a gun. Whose to say she didnt understand that she was taking a life? a girl that age with the ability to THINK like that, thats impressive.

The most greatest picture to ever be on the internet ever?? I'm sorry but, not only is this NOT the "most greatest" photo on the internet "ever", but its disturbing. I think that killing living creatures is wrong, no matter how you look at it, its wrong. Do these people honestly have nothing better to do with their time then kill things!? not to mention the fact that this idiot took his 9 year old, daughter no less, to go out and kill this magnificent creature. I hate to end my comment with a uneducated and ignorant comment but ..you, that little girl, and anyone related to her ..are all hillbillies ..to think that looking at a murdered animal is cool, or "great" is just ...wow ..whats the word im looking for here ....delusional? psycho? hillbilly like? ..im done now ..
-
lol, thats funny because wihtout killing animals you, uh well, would STARVE!! Im not saying i condone the killing of animals for sport in any way, but you gotta understand the underlying purpose of the hunt. It's natural, part of our DNA.

What she said about the killing is even more disturbing: "Do you know how big an 11' bear looks at 30 yds? It's kinda scary! They are about the size of a Volkswagen bus and when they swing their head to look your way they remind you of a T-Rex in Jurassic Park!"
Ummm an extinct dinosaur? Movie references? Maybe this is why 9 year olds shouldn't be hunting (they don't know what they are doing). -
you won, i couldn't find a better one... I shall find myself a bear!!! and have a 3 year old holding a gun and photo shop a dead bear behind him.
-
This is not even a brilliant photo. I mean, it's ok but it's nothing special. When I read the heading, "Greatest Picture Ever on the Internet of All Time Ever", I was expecting something extraordinary : (
-
what is this guy in the article talking about?! theres many a breath takeing photo in this world that trumps the little girl big bear. if the picture would have told its 1000 words to a survival story it would be differnt. but the thought of this great 11 foot grizzly being taken down bye goldilocks with her dads high caliber sniper rifel SICKENS ME. that family better have used 89% of that bear for me too be happy. i bet that gun has a beer bottle opener on it.
