"A toddler born with eight limbs and believed by some to be the reincarnation of the multi-limbed Hindu goddess Vishnu, is set to undergo a 40-hour operation to remove half of her limbs."
Never seen anything like this.

Incredible. I hope she makes it through okay!
-
This is quite ridiculous..."a toddler born with 8 limbs"...if it is so incredibly amazing now, why, then, was she not exposed as an infant? It's not as if the parents care whether this poor girl is publicly humiliated, and it probably would have been at least a little more humane to expose her disability as a child.

But what good would it do for the girls self esteem to hide her or be ashamed of her? I mean, they are saying she is a re-incarnated god, what more can you ask for?
-
Is it possible that this is actually real? when you go to the linked files, the pictures don't look photoshopped...but this is just too unbelievable
-
a2011dream, the girl was born in a remote area to a dirt-poor family who hid her because circuses wanted to buy her. A doctor got to hear about it and went to find the girl, and organized her operation.

This is amazing, makes you wonder, maybe she is the reincarnation of Vishnu...
-
I doubt she's a Vishnu Avatar, nor even a Lakshmi Avatar. She's simply the full twin sister of her incomplete and parasitic siamese twin. Furthermore, Vishnu is not a goddess, Vishnu is a god, one of the major gods in the Hindu pantheon - all the Hindu gods and goddesses are not really separate deities but different aspects and expressions of the One Supreme God to whom Vishnu is associated.

Vishnu, left, and Lakshmi, right.Vishnu, also known as Narayana, is the Supreme Being (i.e., God ) or Ultimate Reality for Vaishnavas and a manifestation of Brahman in the Advaita or Smarta traditions of Hinduism.

Lakshmi or Mahalakshmi (Sanskrit: लक्ष्मी lakṣmī) is the Hindu goddess of wealth, fortune, love and beauty, the lotus flower and fertility. Representations of Lakshmi (or Shri) are found in Jain and Buddhist monuments, in addition to Hindu temples. Analogous to the Greek Aphrodite and Roman Venus - who also originated from the oceans - she is generally thought of as the personification of material fortune, beauty and prosperity.
She is the consort of Vishnu and married or romanced his incarnations Rama (in her incarnation as Sita) and Krishna as Rukmini and the gopi Radha.

Everything is determined by forces over which we have no control. It is determined for the insect as well as for the star. Human beings, vegetables, or cosmic dust - we all dance to a mysterious tune, intoned in the distance by an invisible piper.- einstein himself..-
