Israel is a top destination for sex traffickers, who bring women from former Soviet states to work as prostitutes in Israeli cities. Prostitution is legal in the country, but brothels and pimping are not.

Things have gotten better since 2004 when the government opened a shelter for women that have been trafficked for sex.

    how is prostitution legal but not pimping and brothels. I guess you could just work for yourself and not in a big group. That is interesting. Is this common among countries where prostitution is legal?
