my condolence's for your mother and father, but your self destructive habits are no validation towards stem cell research. i say this as a smoker and a supporter of stem cell research.

The debate behind walls is do we want the general population living beyond a typical life span? This is the promise of stem cells. Not weither or not we want to kill babies. Truth is they have other ways of getting stem cells. You can get them from your nose. There is a treasure trove of stem cells in your nose. Some college in the US has cultured stem cells from a regular cell with a new process of injecting the cell with a virus that drops a protein needed to make it a stem cell. We don't even have to use embryo's. SMOKE ON! If we have access to our nose, how come we don't see doctors using this stem cell technology? Something tells me it works a little to well and they will never let the general public "Afford" this sort of procedure. Especially in this country, were my health is based on market profits and insurance fraud.
