There's been a growing trend of physical games and activities being banned in schools---now apparently "hugging" is unacceptable.

Huh?!So I thought this whole hugging ban was a new thing. Check out the date stamp on this article - apparently they've been forbidding sharing the love for over 2 years!

How sad and emotionally depriving... What is more natural than friends giving hugs now and then?
On the other hand, those who never get hugs won't feel left out any more.-

This is so sad. No hugs? I agree with Vierotchka that hugs are a natural 'welcome' and 'hello' among friends. I think it's a positive way to greet people. This is overboard by my book!

People are becoming to accustomed to being isolated.
We are a community, taking away physical contact is ridiculous. -
How revolting! What's next? No smiling? Is that school trying to breed sociopaths?! Many cultures use hugging as a greeting. For example: in Hispanic cultures, it's natural to hug people as a greeting. Also, in the deep south, where I'm from, it's natural to hug friends. What the hell is going wrong with the world when we're forbidden to hug one another. Sometimes I think we all just need to be annihilated. Send us back to the stone age and let's just start over. To those responsible: let the children hug one another you F'ing, sad, pathetic, ludicrous, asinine, pompous morons!!!!!!!!!

wow. what does this say about our country now. we dont even encourage the most natural, positive, and affirming action we can approapriatly give in public. sad... The future is going to be an interesting place

Yup. Welcome to reality.
When I was in high school (late 1990's), a group of friends, mixed company, were enjoying lunch and talking in a circle. A male friend standing next to me had his arm crooked and elbow resting on my shoulder. Someone from the school administration approached us and we were reprimanded for a 'public display of affection.' I had not even considered the act to be sexual or provocative in any way. -
Maybe this is just an attempt by the teachers and administrators to get back at the students for not being able to grope and molest them any more. They're saying, "Fine, if we can't grope and fondle your children, we wont let them touch, or hug each other anymore!!! MMuuaaahahahahaha!!!!!"

that's just plainly stupid.
