Say goodbye to super skinny models because holograms just entered the picture! That's right Target is making a hologram fashion show for NYC commuters.

Interesting idea but I must say this fashion show was very boring. I believe the concept would make a great 30 second commercial spot, but to have an entire fashiion show with faceless shadows...the sales pitch falls flat despite it's 3Dness.

Props for TargetThe point of a fashion show is to showcase upcoming designs, not the girls strutting down the runway in them! Besides, Target is marketing to the price-savvy consumer who knows that he/she does not have to attend a glamorized runway show to have killer style.
Actually, this is not the first time Target has launched an innovative promotion- they once had 15 acrobats walk a vertical catwalk down the side of Rockefeller Center!-

Actually I don't think a fashion show is so much about the clothes as it is about the show itself. Whether one wants to admit it, it's the personality of the models (guys and girls) - their faces, their eyes, their individual energies, personalities, facial expressions and yes, sex appeal - that sells the image, the dream, i.e. the fashion of the designer or label. Cashiers sell the clothes. Being an actor, I appreciate the theatricalness of fashion - not to mention the "real" jobs that fashion provides. My only problem with Target's campaign is that it's boring; I felt I was shopping online. I love the concept of having a holographic show, just so long as its fashionable.

Hey Leggo,
I was there for that fashion show! It was pretty cool, actually, they had these dancers with cables attached to their bodies literally running, dancing, walking and jumping their way down the side of the building.

Finally clothes that don't need people. Wot will they think of next? people without clothes?
